Hey guys,
I'm currently using Ruby (Froyo AOSP ROM) and have been for months, so figured I'd try out some Gingerbread AOSP roms this weekend. Just a couple of questions:
1. I remember having to update the radio when I rooted for 2.2, and my phone says I'm currently using radio version 2.15.00.07.28. Do I need to update this again? And if so, where/how? Think it's been a year since I did it last, and I've slept since then, so have no idea how I did it the first time
One of the roms I am especially interested in is Gingerbread Deck, and folks have reported that they're getting great battery life with 'Chad's Incredikernel'. I've never installed a custom kernel before, but as I understand it, you install it in recovery mode from a zip file, just like roms. That being the case, will I have to do a lot of tweaking to see any noticeable results, or will it have some sort of visible impact right out of the box? To be quite honest, I don't know a thing about tweaking voltage settings, and sounds about as interesting as watching paint dry.
