Help Accidentally sending texts from pocket with LG Optimus V

Hi,
I just got an LG Optimus V, and I've been accidentally sending numerous nonsense texts from my pocket unintentionally. I ordered a protective case for it and that should arrive in a couple days. That might help with keeping the buttons from getting brushed in my pocket. Any suggestion?

Make sure you turn the screen off before you put it in your pocket. Just lightly press the button on top (not long enough to get the power off option.)

If the screen is off, you have to slide the on option to do anything.

Yeah, you're supposed to lock it before you put it in your pocket. lol

one time i forgot to lock my screen and i had pocket dialed my voicemail, browsed to the wikipedia page for some town in germany, and downloaded a bunch of images

Don't feel bad, I had the phone for months before I figured that out.

I also recommend pressing the power button as described, no matter what, to turn off the screen and conserve battery.

Уuρ happened to me once ωhen I forgot to lock it. Somehoω my ρhoηε called my boss ωhen I had it in my pocket. My boss called me back and I felt stupid.

I do this ALL the time. The BEST solution is to download Proximity Screen Off. You know how your screen goes off when your making a call and you put the phone up to your face? It uses the same sensor to turn the phone off when its in close proximity to your pocket, finger, or whatever you put it it up to. This solved my pocket texting problem and helps save wear and tear on the power button.
