Who still wants the stratosphere?

At this point, Raider, I think just about everyone who hasn't decided to take the bait and buy Bionic is waiting on the Prime. I say "just about" because there ARE people who don't want to let go of a physical QWERTY keyboard. But Prime speculation is getting more & more exciting, with it having passed both Bluetooth and wi-fi certifications. On to the FCC! :)

I agree but the model number is very similar to the charge so I have a feeling it may just be an upgraded charge and nothing really special. It seems like verizon keeps getting a rebranded older phone on their 4g network and the iphone will be one of the top phones even though it will probably only be 3g. I like keyboards but I am not going to sacrifice specs in order to get a keyboard. Its a shame they couldnt have bumped up the specs on this.

I saw a rumbling that the Stratosphere will at least get the Galaxy S Plus spec bump (1.4Ghz Scorpion + Adreno 205 instead of 1Ghz Hummingbird + SGX540).. and a bigger battery (1650mah instead of 1500) if that's any consolation to anyone..

The battery is better spec than any LTE phone save for the Bionic so far (TB 1400 Revo 1500 Charge 1600)

If the price is right (sub-$150).. I might still be in for one.. I really like my keyboard

Here are the specs for the Galaxy S Plus: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_plus-review-623.php

Even so, the Adreno 205 is a big of a regression from the SGX540.. I would be happy to see that go, but somehow it's doubtful, since I don't think Samsung is speccing the Hummingbird SOC over 1Ghz..

If it has a 1.4 ghz processor than maybe I will look into it but if it is 1ghz single core ill pass. I would like a keyboard but not going to sacrifice specs for a keyboard.

How does that have anything to do with the stratosphere though? That one doesn't have a keyboard and is gsm and not lte.

I think he believes that maybe the stratosphere will have the same specs as the Galaxy S plus with a keyboard. So I think he is just using that link as reference. If that's the case, then I wouldn't look past this device if a person really needs a keyboard.

No matter the specs, this will be the best phone with a keyboard and LTE on verizon. ;)

This is why I'm going to have to suck it up and learn how to use a virtual keyboard. The Stratosphere is just not competitive on any arena outside of having a slider: 512MB RAM, 4.0" display size, 480x800 display (even tho SAMOLED), and single core 1 GHz processor.

My excel spreadsheet comparing all the verified and hypothetical models just shows too much red on the Stratosphere row for me to continue considering it.

Well what TOPS your excel spreadsheet, Droidette? Is it the Prime? The Vigor? Something else?

Well Chief...I am coming on board with the Prime but I tell ya, and I'm getting flamed for this on other threads, I am concerned about the camera. I'll just have to see.

The Galaxy Note looks tasty but I don't think OG can limp along until next year.

What I really want is some concrete info on the Droid Bionic HD (Spyder) and the Samsung Galaxy S2+ (Celox).

And now I've joined the minions of "oooh but the next shiny looks better!" :)

Ding ding! At least its the truth though..haha. I can also say...the bionic is the best dual core LTE device in the planet. :)

Best dual core LTE device in verizon for now, but not in the planet. LTE SGS2 and Note (also dual core LTE) are already announced and coming to Europe this Fall, not to mention the Prime.

Yes for now and I'm not giving the crown to any other device until they actually can be purchased. :D Lol, but I wouldn't be against renaming the bionic as the best dual core LTE device....in america that's already out. :p

You're right if your planet means verizon.:D Even for verizon, let's see if you can still say that in November. So enjoy Bionic while it's alone right now.

Lets get this thread back on track by making me feel bad for wanting an slider LTE phone and seriously considering the possibility of having to settle for a Galaxy S class phone until 2013.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a physical slider phone. Just because I don't want one anymore doesn't mean it's a stigma for YOU to still want one. And I, for one, apologize if any of my posts made you feel like a second-class citizen for wanting a decent slider

Lol, you're right. Sorry for going OT. You win this round Sandroid by default. :p

Nothing wrong with this phone, IMO. I honestly think the next LTE phone with a KB will be the Droid 4 for Verizon. The only thing that this phone will be missing is a multi core processor but do you care about that? Based on your post, it appears that the top two things you want is a KB and LTE...this phone's got that! Go get it if you like or at least try it out.
