Root CM7 and Bluetooth problems?

I'm having an odd problem. I'm running CM7 1.7 and a Motorola Bluetooth earpiece. I can make one call out using while using the Bluetooth. After that I can call, but I hear nothing and the person on the other end hears nothing from me even though the call goes through. I have to shut down the earpiece and turn off Bluetooth on the phone before I can make another call using the Bluetooth.

Has anyone else encountered this and/ or know of a solution for it? Thanks much!

Hi,
Good timing :)
I just finished trouble shooting this problem that I have with my car.
The phone sync's with the car but people cannot hear me.
I tried different kernels but still had the same problem until I reverted back to cm7 1.61 from using cm7 1.7 then everything worked fine people can hear me again hmm not sure if that's good for them :)
So basically go back to 1.61 and you should be ok :)
Thanks,
Bryan

I went back to 1.6.1 so we'll see what it does from there. I didn't have any problems with it and upgraded to CM 1.7 to be current, but I never had any problems with the previous version so I'll be happy to do what works! Thanks again! :D

Personally I didn't see a difference positive or negative to 1.7 except negative problem with bluetooth.
Like you I figured it would be a good idea to have the most recent version :)
Good luck.

Well, it worked great - I have Bluetooth again for whatever reason. Thanks again!

Awesome happy it worked out for you :)
Thanks for letting us know it can help someone else that will hit this issue :)
By the way you could make a nandroid backup and flash Imoseyon's kernel so you can the benefits of it I was recommended to use by the folks here and I have to tell you it is better than the stock kernel cm7 comes with :)

Thanks,
Bryan

If anyone wants to be experimental they could try taking the Bluetooth.apk from 1.61 in /system/app and adding it to the /system/app folder in 1.7 and then fix the permissions and reboot. I don't use Bluetooth save for a rarebfew file transfers between my phone and mp3 player and I'm not running cm7 so I can't really test

Hmm interesting didn't know about that would be something I would try at some point, but I have to say that not even talking about the bluetooth problem I feel I am getting better battery life with 1.61 and with imo kernel 3.5.8 with the audio fix that was posted above :)
So the temptation to jump to 1.7 is not as strong as was before in fact I would be interested when slayher comes out with the next version what fixes were needed for 1.7 :)
Thanks,
Bryan
