Guys have you encountered this kind of issues? and resolve it?

After updating to 2.3.3 it takes more than 8hours to fully charge the phone.. and if you did not watch-out after it fully charge, it begins to discharge.. This happens to my 2 x10.. so i think it cannot be hardware.. because when i flashed back my phone to 2.1, it charge normally..

this charging issues happens in: off mode charging, AC charging, android ver2.3.3.

I tried reinstall the firmware for how many times in SEUS or PCC. i tried changing USB cable (arc, and another x10). the issues still remain. i tried to root it using WB but the issues still there.

Until then i flashed back to android2.1 and the issues is gone.. it charge back to normal.. usually 2-4hours..

Please help me how did you resolve this issues.. because i love the android2.3 but the charging issues annoys me..

Thanks for the help!

I have upgraded 3 x10s all to 2.3 and none of them have the issue.

One 1 stock upgrade, the other I flashed myself.

When I charge I use the AC-USB adapter straight into the wall...when charging from my laptop or from a USB port (like my PS3) it does charge slowly.

Are there any apps you are using that might hinder or slow its charging? When you try and charge, you are completely stock and leave 3g/wireless/gps/bluetooth off?

I charge from completely empty to full in about 2 hours or so. Usually I charge from 50 percent to full in about 45 min.

Not the battery?

There is some battery app someone mentioned on here months and months ago that shows the voltage.

Not this one - http://androidforums.com/sony-erics...-xperia-x10-now-will-not-charge-but-says.html

If you rooted, did you ever install xRecovery and then wipe all the battery stats?

I can't find it.

Maybe search for a voltage app, see if battery actually charges properly.

I tried reinstall the software, so it's fresh installed.. no new apps installed.. and tried to drain the battery up to 15%.. and charge it.. OFF mode and AC-wall plug.. It still take 8hours..

Any apps cannot monitor the charging while phone is OFF.. and charging in ON mode is OK.. the only problem on my phone is charging in OFF mode..

I tried wiping the battery stats in xRecovery.. and still it doesn't resolve the charging.. But i notice there is an improvement in Battery life.. but the very slow charging still remains..

interesting...are you using a OEM version of 2.3.3 or a custom (like Wolfbreak's) ?

my phone takes around a hour and a half to go from 10-15% to full charge (wall plug) and double from usb.

I used WB4.0.4.. and when i'm in android2.3.3 the charging takes more than 8hours.. and when i flashed back to android2.1, it only takes 1-2hours of charging from 15% to fully charge..

on top of that are you using the stock cable or a replacement one?

Yes.. I tried my x10 stock USB cable.. then i tried another x10 USB cable.. and another ARC USB cable.. never resolves it..

I've seen some have the same issues with me.. Some didn't resolve it like me.. Some resolve it by changing USB cable.. and some send it to repair center and change their motherboard..

So i think my 2 x10's have different hardware components than others...

So, just to confirm.

Phone charges fine while the phone is on. But if you turn the phone off and try and charge the phone in off mode, then it charges slowly.

I think I read about that when 2.3 was released.

I think this is normal.

I was mistaken. I didn't know you were charging your phone while it is off. I think this is normal. It charges using different power than before.

It charges at
700 mA instead of 1000 or something like that. I thought I read that in one of the release notes for 2.3 before it came out.

Can't find information to confirm that.

Yes.. Most of the time i charge my phone in OFF mode so that i have more Power on my battery.. And before in 2.1 it only takes 2-3hours, but now it takes 8hours..

Because if you charge the phone while it's ON your battery drains in no time..

Am i right?

I have to try to search on current in charging.. maybe that is the reason too..

thanks!

Your problem is quite similar to one me and my friend has(both on x10)

Weve had this problem that after a full charge, its starts draining while on charge. We just thought it was normal to be honest. As in a way to not overload the battery.

Me personal, have a messed up cable, which I move.while its on charge. Ot stops charging without telling me(led still on, all apps and info saying "plugged in/charging")

And he is 100% stock, always has been.
Iv been rooted since 2.1update1
Now im on wolfbreaks 2.3 rom v4.0.4cc

Ps, my battery life sucks. Did a calibration last night. Seems good so far today

Most of what you said is spot on and normal....I can't determine if how long it takes your battery to charge is normal or not cause I don't know how discharged the battery is when you started charging it. If it was only 50% drained, yes 8hrs is way too long to get it back to 100%. But if it was drained to the point it shut down on it's own, it's not unheard of for it to take that long.

You should be charging your battery as often as possible...not meaning every time you get 5 minutes, slap it on the charger, but if you're in the car on a trip that's gonna take 30 minutes or so, charge it up! If you're at home or on the comp and gonna be there for a while, charge it up! Then once a month make sure to drain the battery fully then charge it back up. No need to do that on a daily basis. Not only is there no need, i'm sure it's not good for the battery to be drained to death everyday before being charged.

As for the battery "discharging" if not taken off the charger once it hits 100%, it's a safety feature to prevent you from overcharging the battery. When I do my monthly full discharge, I plug it in and night before go to bed and it will complete some time during my sleep. When I get up in the morning I simply unplug it, then plug it back it and it will get back to 100% in just a few minutes and all is well.

I have also noticed that it charges faster via AC adapter than it does when charged via USB.
