Steven asked me to start this thread since he is running this Rom right now and liking it quite a bit. He feels that it should have it's own dedicated thread, and I agree :D:D:D

I couldn't find a thread specifically for this Rom, and neither could Steven, hopefully our efforts here aren't doubling up on an existing thread.

Here's the link to the thread by revNumbers over at rootzwiki.com.

[DEV_THREAD]DroidX CM7 with Gingerbread Kernel

You guys can use this thread for specific issues/discussions about this Rom.

I'm going to recommend this ROM even for newbs. The only things, newbs, is if you have any questions or difficulties? ASK! There's an sbf and one click root available for the new .602 GB update, so it's going to be pretty difficult to totally mess up, nigh to impossible.

Personally, I hadn't flashed anything since June. Since June I was on Stock Gingerbread rooted, so I was getting bored. This is giving me new enjoyment. I love the little tweaks you can do with the rom.

I thought you couldn't stand cm7 4 froyo because you couldn't live without hd camera/camcorder... How does being on the gb kernel + battery life-1% battery display bring you back? Or am I thinking of someone else?

That is beside the point though... Great rom! Love it! If you don't have it already, get it!

if i'm not mistaken the fix for the camera (the all in one CM7 fix) has been rolled into this build. So you don't have to flash a separate zip.

It is rolled in but it is not as good resolution as the blur video cam. The still cam is just as good only no widescreen. I too miss the 1% battery and it appears that none of the market battery monitor widgets work either. They all pull in something like -13483272% for the battery.

Besides that the only other complaint I has is not being able to play videos I captured with the blur cam.

I am loving the CM74DXonGB. Can't find any reasons not to have this as my daily driver. The GB version does seem a bit snappier and the battery life is much much better. Got 16 hours yesterday on standard battery.

so if im the original ssx rom how to i get to this rom i havent flashed in months and been on this site for a bit and updates would help im ready for a change....

I think the original ssx rom was on the froyo kernel (I know; not technically the froyo kernel but the kernel that came with froyo). So you will need to SBF to 604, one click root, and install the latest rev. nightly.

One other note, if you have rom manager premium, be careful when flashing recover. It looks like some have had issues with the latest 5.0.2.0. I personally have not but the rootzwiki forum is reporting lots of issues and lots of 'em are going back to 5.0.1.0.

Steven, are you using jakebites? I ran for about a day and a half without it and then put v8 on. Just moved to v9. I know what all it does but I really did not notice much of a change. You?

I am. I'm getting good battery life. I did it because bo did it. I do everything he does. He is my role model. ;)

If you want widescreen shots use the MIUI Test 1 camera, it works perfectly. Just go into its settings and turn off Auto Focus, and choose "Infinity" for "Focus Mode".

If you want it, here it is:
Miui_camera.zip

Install it through CWR or extract it from the zip an install it manually through something like root explorer.

If you are already on a .602 rom can you just wipe data and flash this or do you have to sbf?
Thanks

proof that even Steven, the Mod of mods, is human and can change his mind?

or maybe he's a dirty liar!

lol

I still do like blur very much. The thing about this is that it runs leaner and faster. I'm running with much more rom to spare and smoothness than my blur. I do miss some blur features, though. Regarding changing my mind? I'm 53. I've been forced to do that often in order to grow in wisdom. :D

steven doesnt know how to lie! he gets us to lie for him

other note i added this to the rom list

1) lol... 2) Thanks, bro1

Thanks

You can go directly from any 602 rom.

Dido. .10 didn't wanna play nice on my phone either. .20 on the other hand works much better but is still ever so lightly glitchy.
