50% Off Promotion on Extended Battery

I saw this too - great deal!

However, I noticed that the 20% off for online orders of two accessories, and 25% off for online orders of three accessories, is not working. I confirmed it's not just on Bionic accessories, their whole accessory line right now is not honoring it.

I called their online order support team and they credit me the amoutn from my order at midnight, and told me they are working on fixing the online discount and it will hopefully be back up soon. If anyone else needs that number, it is (866) 338-7390. You'll need to have your order number ready if you already made the purchase. They can also apply the discount if you order with them over the phone.

Take care,

If you're buying the phone from Verizon, I highly recommend that you purchase the extended battery for $25. There is no set date when the promotion will end but $25 is really quite a steal for an extended battery of that size.

I think I will buy it and try it out, based on the mAH it should be nearly a 60% increase in charge, which would make this handle heavy usage for probably 15 hours straight...

Will need to spend a day with and a day without the extended to test it out.

After all I did get a free battery via costco...

Yep, I also found about this promotion by accident. When I was purchasing my Bionic from the Verizon store, I inquired about the extended battery. The rep said it was $49.99, so I passed. However, one of the other reps nearby said that it was ringing up as $25 once you go through the checkout process. So my rep checked, and sure enough it was $25! I couldn't pass it up. It doesn't really add much bulk or weight, and I think it'll let me last through the day.

So for those of us who bought our phone from costco, can we get the same discount by walking into a vzw store and getting just the battery?

I went straight to Verizon after leaving Costco and bought the battery and cover, but they were out of stock so it's being shipped.

One thing to note is that if you're buying/using the shell/holster combo, the shell is designed to accommodate the extended battery, so the battery won't make the overall dimensions increase at all.

I have the extended battery on mine. I need it because a stock battery will not last for my usage.

The docks have removable inserts. If you are using the normal battery with no case then you leave them in. If you have the extended battery with the Shell on the back you take the insert out and it's a perfect fit.

The Motorola Designers really thought about their accessories.

That's my favorite part about Motorola products. They always have very well made and designed accessories that work together for the most part.

See my post here for comparison pictures of the Stock and Extended batteries:

Will the extended battery fit in the external battery charger that comes with the Costco package?

Yes, the battery dock/charger accepts both standard and extended life batteries. THe costco accessories are exactly the same ones that VZW sells in their stores.

The silicon or rubber cases will not fit with the extended batteries but I haven't started searching for ones that will... just know the standard ones will not fit... almost, but not quite.

The Bionic fits perfectly in the car dock with the extended battery. I've had mixed results, though, getting the Car Home application to auto-start when the phone is placed in the doc.

wrong. my phone fits perfectly

Yes it will. In fact, even the windshield dock accepts the phone with the extended battery.

I have both docks and the extended battery and everything fits just fine. The docks have a cut out for the extra girth.

I know I know I know guys.

Sorry, I added an edit to my last post in this thread saying I was mistaken and it fits.

Sorry for any misinformation guys 0.o

I actually just picked up the Extended battery for my Bionic...

I am excited to see how the 2700 battery extends the life of my phone.

In fact this battery makes my phone ALMOST as heavy as the OG Droid with Extended battery and ALMOST as thick...

So my brand new shiny phone is still lighter and helluva more powerful battery wise than my older one.

I love this thing.

Stopped at my local Verizon on the way home to pick one up (not the larger store where I purchased the phone).

One woman behind the counter.
Me: "Hi, do you have any of the extended batteries for the Bionic in stock?"
Her: (making face like I'm holding up a week-old dirty diaper, not kidding) "Oh no! nonono!"
Me: "Uh, okay. Do you know if you'll be getting any in?"
Her: "Nonono. Nonono."
Me: "Okay - I'll see if I can order one online. Thanks."

Thanks for nothing.
