Help Boot Up time does vary w/FastBoot on/off

I'm thinking my Evo 3D may have issues. If my phone is powered off (not just sleeping) and I press the on button, the time it takes to get to the lock-screen is 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Is this normal?

Edit: So I just watched a video of the EVO 3D and it took the guys phone 9 seconds to get to the lock-screen, clearly I have an issue. Any suggestions or should I go to a Sprint store?

do u have fastboot turned off?
settings, power, fastboot

is it checked or not?
if not your phone fully shuts off. the video you saw was of fastboot which is basically a deep hibernation, which has about a 10 sec startup time

Can't help you out much, but I just timed mine and got 16 seconds to the lock screen from fully powered off and about 30 seconds for all my homescreens to load and get service.

I won't be much help, but In know the others will ask some questions before trying to answer, such as:

Has it always been that slow or just recently?
Are you rooted? If so what ROM?
Any new app downloads?

My only suggestion would be to do a factory reset and recheck it. But do some troubleshooting first.

It hasn't always been this slow, I'm not rooted, and I have a few dozen apps. I guess i can try to do a factory reset after backing everything up. Is that 16 seconds boot you get with fastboot enabled ymmie?

I have fast boot off, even with it off should it take this long? I understand fastboot doesn't actually shut the phone down totally.

Thanks fellas!

Exactly as Wake mentioned, check to see if your Fastboot is unchecked

Menu/settings/power/ and scroll down and look if Fastboot is on or off

Yes with FastBoot off the startup time is much slower, like about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, enabled about 30 seconds give or take

I just turned fast boot of and shut down and booted up. Got about the same time you did. You're probably just fine. Check fast boot if you want the faster boot time.

take it into sprint tech if you feel the handset is not operating properly. 2 minutes with fast boot off is not uncommon. you may also perform a factory reset also. it sounds like something is just tangled up. a factory reset should eliminate your issue.

what you can do:

enable fast boot
soft reset (shutdown menu)

remove battery

2 minute wait

re-install battery

check boot up speed

if its still longer than 40 seconds

disable fast boot

soft reset (via shutdown menu)

remove battery for 2 minutes

re-install

check boot up time

is it the same? different??

if no change with fast boot on or off, factory reset if this is a major issue for you and/or if its causing other issues.

if still no change after the factor reset,

take it in to sprint for possible replacement.

not much else one can do...
