life changing decision,need some serious advice people!!!!!!

i am currently on at&t, i know i know and i have been long awaiting this phone, i was on of the true bionic fans that stuck along side when ppl started seeing posts of the vigor and prime. my plan was to swtich to verizon and pick up the bionic on its first week of launch cause i love motorolas phones build quality etc.... but after reading alot of posts on this forum and after hearing things such as ...the phones vibrate sucks, the 3g symbol not going away when using wifi, battery life not being all that great, loose; rattling volume rockers, and random reboots, other small bug issues and stuff like that. I am absolutely torn about getting this phone as it would be such a big commitment for me leaving one carrier and signing 2 years with verizon for this phone..i want to really bad cause this has been the only phone that has caught my attention for the whole 9 months and im not big into rooting so im not entirely interested in the prime and i dont like htc so the vigor is outta the question for me...anyone experiencing any of these problems plz give some advice as if these are serious issues or not and if i should go ahead and take the leap as im hoping this is a worthy device,,what do you guys think????

Honestly the 'problems' you mention are people being very nit picky. I was the one posting about the 3G icon not going away with wifi. Everything works like it's supposed to, it's just different from the OG Droid and Droid X. Now that I check the rockers they do rattle a little bit, but I did not notice at all until you said this and I checked. I most likely will never notice again, it's so minimal. Motorola Droids are extremely durable, and the Droid Bionic seems to be built the same. I have dropped my OGD and DX many, many times and I don't ever worry about them, because I know they are always fine. And so far I expect the same from this phone.
Don't let these nit picky things people bring up discourage you from another awesome Motorola Droid on the best network for call quality/reliability.

edit: as far as battery life, I think that the Bionic is doing better than my Droid X, but I do have 4G turned off.

Keep in mind that most of the problems you see posted here, are only the handful of the hundreds of thousands to millions of people that have the phone. There are bound to be defects and problems in every batch of phones.

That being said, some people are very particular with these phones and make a big deal out of some small issues. It all really depends on if you are comfortable with it. You have to try a phone out and see if you like it. Every phone is going to have it's own set of problems, but as long as you like it, then you can put up with the problems.

Everyone has personal preferences too. So if you see something like the vibrate not being strong enough or the speaker not being loud enough, it really depends on each individual person and their own perception. Like me for example, I find the vibrate to be fine and the speaker to be pretty loud.

As far as software issues. A lot of the people that are having random reboots probably have bad applications installed or installed a custom launcher right off the bat. The battery life has been pretty decent for me, way better than my Droid Incredible, especially considering I have left 4G on and not disabled it. Not to mention, no one can truly judge the battery life until the battery has gone through a few cycles.

Bottom line, try it yourself and see if you notice any of these issues. You probably will have a few of them, but the question is, will they bother you? Because remember, EVERY SINGLE PHONE will have something wrong with it.

For every thread that has a complaint, there are people who say that they don't notice it or don't have the same problem. I would try buy it and return or exchange it if you don't like it. No harm no foul.

Drop At&t they suck anyways. Get this phone! its pretty awesome. Most of the complaints are petty little things that are from them not using the phone correctly, and individual preferences and some things that are fixable by restarts. Besides 4g LTE is badass!

I just left AT&T and my Atrix for Verizon and the Bionic. I activated my husband's old Droid on the last day of unlimited to hold a spot til the Bionic came out. I had been with AT&T for over 15 years and was generally happy, so it was a tough decision for me too. I am thrilled with my Bionic so far. I'm sure there will be a few things come up, there always are with new phones. I'm at 49% battery after 13 hours doing all I needed to do with calls, email and moderate web browsing (4G on all day). Screen is much better, and so much faster. Play with one in the store until you decide if you're happy enough to change. For me, it was much easier than I thought!

I don't want to be an a**hole, but "life-changing decision" is being a little dramatic. If it really is that life-changing, may I suggest going into a Verizon store to play around with it and see for yourself? Afterwards, you can make a Pros/Cons list and also calculate the costs.

thanx guys that helped a lot...and yess life changing is a little dramatic lol i just wanted to catch peoples attention .....also one more questions if i get the phone i know i have 14 days to decide if i want to keep it or not but doesnt that mean that i have already signed for the 2 years and wont be able to go back to at&t??? will there be some kind of fee or something if i decide i dont want to stay with verizon?

I think VZW corp stores still have a $35 restocking fee. I know Bestbuy and Costco do not.

I think you can get out of both the new Verizon contract and the phone if you cancel within 14 days. After 14 days you are committed to Verizon contract, but depending on where you buy the phone, you may still be able to exchange it for another Verizon phone.
