I had high hopes for this phone, despite knowing it had been delayed for so long. If it would have come out earlier, it would have been better. It's a fast phone, no doubt about it. It has some nice social integration...I like being able to look at all my photos in one place (camera roll, picasa, flickr, etc).
But for me the negatives outweigh the positives, and I think it's mostly the Motorla interface and screen. I really do not like the screen. Colors are washed out. Front facing camera is pitiful. The regular camera takes a long time to focus and then take a picture. The delay is way too long. I am much more a fan of HTC sense than the Blur interface, and yes, I know I can customize it. But for a $300 phone I expected much more than this.:(

To the OP - I see you have a Tbolt. IMHO, the Tbolt has a horrible screen. Dark and washed out as hell. My DX blew it out of the water and my DX2 ups the ante on my DX. The screen on my DX2 is MUCH brighter with far crisper colors that the Tbolt. It isn't even close. So IMO, there HAVE to be some pretty crappy pentile screens out there and I'm beginning to believe that mine on my DX2 is one of the good batch because your descriptions of the Bionic screen in NO way can be used to describe mine. Even the "pixelization" on mine is hard to notice, and you have to have it veryl close up to do so.

I posted in another thread that I am not seeing pixelation, not even in the battery area where all the naysayers were pointing to at a magnification of 10X.

Further more, the screen is nice, and the Homescreen UI is so much like LPP (minus the sliding dock) that I'm already used to it and loving it from jump street.

The Social integration seems to be broken for me at the moment, b/c I've tried to enter my credentials and it won't go, saying invalid PW when in fact the PW is the correct one - tried it in the browser 8and* on my computer, works in both of those places.

I just love having a boatload of space for app installs, and I'm running more apps now that autostart than I've ever done before, and I still have well over 300 MB of free RAM....

So far, the phone is nice and fun. But, as soon as the bootloader gets unlocked, I'm pushing the envelope again.

Hey there glad to see you made the switch too. I agree i dont see the pixelization or other issue. Of course this could be my eyes not picking it up but if i have to magnify it to see it then I dont see it as a problem.

As for the app memory this is huge for me as I was pretty much maxed out on my Droid.

One thing people should keep in mind is that everyone's eyes are diff. More than that, there are percentiles of people that have diff visual levels. Think of those that are colorblind, those who are near or farsighted, etc. There's a percentage of us who can see the pixels, and there's those of us who can't. I just had no idea I was one who could. lmao

It's weird how the pros and cons are exactly the same. It's the pentile matrix that is making this pixelized, but it's that same pentile matrix that's making it visible in direct sunlight and helping to slightly curtail the displays generally heavy battery drain.

I am coming to believe that it's more than just differences in peoples vision and/or taste. It may just be there are some crappy screens being released and also some good ones Sounds more like a quality control issue to me, but I'll need more proof to know for sure.

I look at it like this.. I came from an OG Droid.. And if i was to compare the 2 feature to feature.. not much of a contest to me IMO.. I do however have a few gripes.

Cam Gallery is not real straight forward. i had all my pictures uploaded to picasa and i could access them from my phone with no problem. I cant seem to get to most of my albums via 3g or wifi..

I seem to be having the 3g issue. As it sometimes i have data and some times i dont..

And on of the smaller things is if you open up the browser and then open up a few different windows say 5-6. Hit the menu button-then windows the try to close the windows in the list. For some reason or another i can seem to close the windows every time i hit the close button. It seems like if i just hit it real fast it close's it but if i just tap it it just opens that window.. Try it out and let me know.
