Root CM7 Random Issue Thread

It works now but takes ages to send n. I need really good signal to send n its not because carrier being down because I have a second ascend running cm7 n it works perfect. It's just the latest builds of cm7 r really buggy

They're really not that buggy. Most likely you just had a bad flash. I had to flash the latest build a few times to get everything working right. But now it's damn near perfect. Whatever issues I do have are due to what I've done since then.

Thank you devs for all your work and support.

Ok. Running pg's latest build. Dta2sd running. Usually has at least 100mb internal mem free. Woke up this morning with low memory alert. Only 778kb free. Swype keeps force closing and its rejecting incoming texts. Tried reinstalling a2sd. No luck. Not understanding why. Any suggestions?

Edit: I ran a2sd sysinfo and what stands out to me is that /data/ is full. Once that is full does it move data to internal? How can I fix?

Edit 2: using root explorer I went into /data/ and I notice a file /data/tombstones/tombstones_08 that's 154 MB. Modified at 3 am. Could this be my problem? What is it? Can I delete it without adverse effects?

Edit 3:
Googled the tombstone thing and found this thread http://androidforums.com/samsung-mo...ow-space-phone-storage-space-getting-low.html

FIXED (I hope) Tried moving tombstones_08 to sdcard (rather than just deleting it) Instantly fixed low memory problem. 161mb free. Swype still force closing but hopefully I can fix that issue as well.

But I would still like to know what caused it...

Hello all. I ran into an issue after reflashing my 0728 build of CM7. For the life of me I cannot get rid of the "Roaming Indicator Off" notification. I've flashed MetrOFF from the link on the Wiki about 5 times now. My messaging seems fine, however.

Someone else was having that problem. Dont know if they fixed it. But the weirdest thing is Ive NEVER had the "Roaming off indicator" not once. Matter of fact I dont think Ive even MetrOff on Bob's 0708 build Im running right now and have no problem with anything.

Damm, I do not want to have to use a bluetooth, I do not have the money to purchase a new headset. This is not a good thing in states where you cannot drive and talk without a headset.

Theres a trick to get it to work. Ive never done it tho. Ive heard people say it will work if you turn your phone off plug the headset in and then turn your phone on.

Is there any way to improve the 2D graphic scores in CM7 to be better like in CM6?

My CM7 2D graphics score- 178

My CM6 2D graphics score- 236

Why is there such a difference and is there something I can edit to improve the 2D graphics score in CM7 to be more close to the CM6 graphic scores?

my cm6 2d graphics score is 196, i can push it to 250 if i wanted to, i've done it before my score is sad: 744
my sd card read and write is low, but i have a 8gb class, 10, how did u make your sd card read/write high? what app did u use, ?

Yes I'm also having the same issue, Why I have not idea, but it started when I went from bobz to Plaufulgod Room then I went back to bobz and the that didn't help, but I think I can live with the indicator in the screen, I will start from scratch to see if that fixes the problem.

I also noticed that even after minutes of no activity sometimes won't go to the lockscreen

how can we can the alarm clock to go off on cm6 adn cm7? mine wont go off unless i open the screen
for CM7 i had 2 launchers on my phone (came w/CM7, & paid version). in sleep mode the clock lag to the right time, so i deleted the launcher that was provided to CM7. now my alarm clock works well. not to say that is the problem, but it worked for me...

how did u manage to get it to work? that was one the reason i went to PG's 0727 build.

Its missing a file. I was messing around looking in the zip files of some builds. And I was in CM6, which the lights work in, and noticed in the system>lib>hw there was 2 files that had lights in the name lights.msm7k.so and lights.glacier.so but CM7 only has one of them which is lights.msm7k.so So I extracted the CM7 zip file and deleted the lights.msm7k.so file and copied the 2 lights. files from CM6 and stuck them in CM7 then threw everything back in a zip file, and flashed it and now they work. I dont know if theres anyway to access the system>lib>hw files in root explorer or anything I did it all on the computer.

Alright heres the 2 files I put in CM7 from CM6 that made the lights work, that I threw up on my Mediafire. You CAN get to the system>lib>hw section via Root Explorer. But I dont know if after doing this in RE if the 2 files will stick after a reboot.

First download this: LightsFixCM7.zip

Put it on your SD card and in root explorer or an alike app long press it and select extract.

Then move both files to system>lib>hw and paste them both in there.

And youre done. You may have to reboot and honestly I dont even know if it will "stick" after a reboot. I did all this on the computer and flashed the zip so I dont know if this method will completely work. But if someone wants to try it out and see if it works and sticks, leave a comment if it does!
