I'm wondering if I should get the Bionic at full retail price for $590. I sold 5 of my other Droids for $439 and I can cover the rest, but I was thinking of waiting for the Nexus/Droid Prime when it comes out in October. It's just so tempting to go out and get the Bionic right now even though it has outdated specs. I like Motoblur a lot, but the Nexus will have a bigger screen and the first to have Android 4.0.

If you feel like you can wait it out, it's best to wait it out for the next big phone, which will be the Prime. When it will come to Verizon is a bit of a mystery though.

Warning: You may get laughed at for buying it at full price. I had a bad experience today at Verizon Wireless with a CSR who basically tried to convince me not to buy it, even though I told him that I was able to sell my BB for a lot and that I hated the BB OS and couldn't stand to use it further. When he saw the total amount (including taxes), he had the audacity to tell two of his coworkers how much I was paying and they basically all laughed at me and gave me that look of "What an idiot."

I feel like it IS a waste of money, no matter how big of a phone it is, but still, I have no other choice. All 3 lines on my plan don't get upgrades for a while. I'm thinking that by the time my next phone gets completely outdated, I'll be eligible for a new phone. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it come out to? I never considered how much tax would be. Obviously it will be different than my state, but it's a general idea.

EDIT: You live in NY too! I guess I'll be getting the EXACT idea haha

OUCH!!! Did I miss something is this phone curing cancer or did it find the second gunman on the grassy knoll??

Its not that bad lol I got a lot for my BB that I sold and the end difference was $150 to move from a terrible BB to this great device. I missed Android and very happy with my positive switch. The CSR I assume just couldn't understand why I would switch.

Yikes. That's a LOT. I guess I'll wait for the Prime, but the question is: how much will THAT be, full retail?

That should be around the same price give or take like $20. If anything, it could be more because it would be better than the Bionic. Expect to pay top dollar for the highest end smartphone from Motorola and Samsung. The iPhone 4 is even more expensive at $649 for full retail.

I did the same thing. Full price. If they treated me like that though, i honesyly would tell them to shove the phone up their a..... turn around and walk out. Then buy it in the next closest store.
Wow what D-bags!

And yes its worth it! I love mine! :)

You mean to tell me our taxes are higher than yours? You'll pay 9% here, and if you're at a hotel, restaurant, or golf course, you pay an additional 2.5% hospitality tax.

DC here. 10%..... We often get complaints at our restaurant why the price is so high and we STILL have to let the customers know about the high tax. (and yes, they think we can do something about it )
