Root any apks to load missing libs and modules

Hi
I've a misbehaving LG GT540, which wont root as libbinder is missing and the USB interface is non functional.
I suspect the latter is lack of the usb kernel module.
I can gain acccess to the SDcard with a wifi connection, so could FTP a apk onto the SDcard then install.
Its still running 1.6, please dont suggest using the LG upgrade tool, as this wont ork unless the USB comms are fuctional, and I'm a linux user, for the last 10 years.

thanks
Richard

You need root access to write to the OS, so if a lib file is missing preventing it from rooting, any app would require root access to the phone, It took me ages to get USB working, make sure USB debugging is switched off, and mass storage only is also switched off, then the lg updater should beable to see the phone, as long as the drivers are installed.

after steveral attemps, this time with mas storage and debug turned off, its upgraded.
It went in on the 5th attempt.
The LG installer is a pain, 4 times it said there was no upgrade available, and each time the LG web site said it was.

Thanks
Richard

Yeah its like that, its prolly the worst updater I have seen and the only way to update without voiding warrenty, but atleast you got upgraded in the end.
