Ok not really.. but as I'm anticipating my upgrade to Gingerbread.. all I hear of on here are issues/problems with the upgrade. Has anyone had a smooth, easy transition with the OTA upgrade?

Almost everybody has had a smooth transition.

The phone thinking it's a Evo is a very very minor problem, that has almost no consequence. The sd card app is more annoying, but should be completely prevented by moving you're sd cards apps to the phone (or uninstall them) before the update and them move them back to the sd card after.

I had a pretty smooth transition. The phone runs smoother and quicker. Prior to the update I put all of my apps on the phone, so I did not have the missing app problem. The only issue I have run into, and it's not fair to call it an issue, was fastboot preventing me from bump charging. I turned fastboot off and now can bump charge again.

The sd card app is more annoying, but should be completely prevented by moving you're sd cards apps to the phone (or uninstall them) before the update and them move them back to the sd card after.

The bug is completely prevented by moving the apps to the phone before the update is installed. I did this before I installed the update and I did not have a single problem. This bug in the update actually helped me. I got rid of a bunch of big apps that I never used and were just taking up space.

The only glitches I have had is once I rebooted my phone and instead of it booting into ADW, it booted into Sense. I cleared the defaults on Sense and ADW, then set ADW as the default launcher again and I was back to normal.

The other glitch I have noticed is the fast boot on my phone is kind of weird. It takes just as long as a normal boot and my phone acts like it locks up a couple of times. The screen goes black and the phone just sits there. I just turned off fast boot and everything is just fine.

Unless you did a factory reset and uninstalled market updates in an effort to fix the Sprint market issue, and then end up stuck on an old version of the market because it will not update itself now. Got a sneaking suspicion that once a fix is released, i will not get it because i am showing an old market version.

The update process doesn't use market in any way. The absolute worst thing that would happen is after the update you would still be on the old version of market. And the problem has nothing to do with market (except showing up there). There is a text file (build.prop) that stores information about the specific hardware and environmental settings (identifies OEM, model, brand, screen size, etc). When HTC was making the update for the Incredible, they apparently didn't change the file from the Evo.

I had the OTA GB upgrade, and just got a replacement phone this week (unrelated issue) There were several new features that i liked, fastboot in particular. But there were a lot of small bugs, and although they did not ruin the phone on their own, combined it became a noticeable annoyance.
