Profile App

I am looking for a profile app. I tried searching and found some threads of people requesting specific things, even spent a fair amount of time on a suggested app trying to get it to do what I want it to but I'm not sure that it will even work. So I think the path of least resistance is posting my specific needs.

Free solution is ideal but its worth it for me to pay for a solution meeting all requirements.

Most important - I want all text messages from @domain.com to play a specific tone. They could be from weeple2000@domain.com or from someoneelse@domain.com, but they must all play the same ring tone that is different from my normal text message tone. All of these messages will contain the word "page" in them, because they are pages for when I am on call. It may be possible to use the word "page" instead of "@domain.com", so either will work.

Other features: I'd like to join my WIFI, turning off 3/4g data at home and on another network I am frequently on, and turn GPS on when I leave those networks. I'd like to silence my phone when I am at work and turn GPS off when I'm at work.

I rooted my phone and am running GummyCharged, I have the Samsung Droid Charge. Not sure if that is relevant. I tried Setting Profiles Lite but couldn't get it to meet my main requirement and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

The surest method without an app would be to simply have these people in your address book and assign them to a group, and then assign a specific tone to that group. Although that is, depending on how many people you will be looking to receive from. If there's like only 10-20 of them, it wont be difficult to set up. But if there's like 50 or more..... Thats a different story.

Can I wildcard a contact or group? The issue is that I don't have all the email addresses the pages come from, it depends on who is working at them time. Also, I won't be notified when people are hired or leave the company.

About the second set of features, I've heard that both Locale and Tasker work wonders.

In the case of Locale, it works by using your current location and activating a set of rules (or profiles) that suit your needs; for example, at work it sets the phone on silence and disconnects 3G and activates Wi-Fi. At home, it does the opposite or whatever other set of rules you set on it.

Tasker is a program that helps you establish profiles, jobs or task when certain parameters or conditions are met; for example, at certain times of day, it could turn off wi-fi and activate 3G, set it during the night and you could set a "sleep mode" task that would effectively silence the phone and deactivate any connections until a certain time of the next day.

To be honest, I didn't use either of them too much, but I'm sure someone more savvy could answer specifics about them.

The right email app could handle this for you. I know Touchdown can do this but it probably isn't relevant to you.

I'd suggest Tasker for this though it does have a bit of a learning curve.
