It's in the boot.img of punkyourrace deodex rom..... I need help pulling out the pieces of the boot.img..... plus the update-script need to match what is inside the system and boot.img

I have V2.1 but it's not booting correctly....

Nah dude wifi being broke has nothing to do with the kernel. Trust me! I have used umph and the stock kernel and both break it. Also it doesn't have to with the deodec because I made a rom out of the stoc k nandroid without deodexing it and its still broke. I used all the permissions set from pwn's rom and I believe we are leaving something g out. There is a wifi init.sh script and on tickerguys cm7 build itsets permissions on that file. I this k there is our problem!

I GOT IT!!! did some update script editing and added a shell script from tickerguys rom & parts of the update-script and now have a themed ROM that doesn't kill my wifi all i did was change the script. thanks for the idea b_randon14!! http://www.mixtapeworms.com/Black_ROM.zip

I saw this as soon as you posted, didn't get to reply till now. I will update thread, and add some stuff to the fix a bit then post up V2.4, gonna add umph kernel oddball to the ROM till I get less busya, fix a couple more problems, and post 2 hand made themes I made. nope its an updated version of the themed ROM with a WIFI fix in the update-script

can you flash from stock to 1.7? or do i have to do the upgrade type installation... like 1.4 first and then 1.7 with your fix?

I just wipe data and reflash, now I see your problem.

Flash V1.4 before V1.6
Also when switching themed ROM versions(V1.4 to V1.6)
just clear dalvik cache then flash new version

Ok finally flashed per directions and I have no camera app. I wiped flashed 1.4 flashed 1.7 and restored my data. No camera. Yeah I have other apps but I would like my stock camera

dont forget to change the permissions of added apps in /system/app folder to
"rw-r--r--"

i personally haven't used this rom at all but if i did and the camera.apk was truly an issue why don't you just get titanium backup and backup your camera.apk to the sd card and just redownload after you flash and restore the original camera.apk back to the phone. i mean it seems that would just be the easiest way..... i did this with the Black Stock-ish Rom and everything worked perfectly, but it wasn't missing the camera app, just a few random ones.
