So we wont be getting the noise cancellation mic either??

On Slashgear's review, I didn't see any secondary mic on the device's top, as it is there on international SGS2. Seems like Samsung increased the screen size and battery capacity, but took away some small but good features.

in the slashgear review there is a photo album and if you get into the 30s or so you will see that there is a small Qualcomm sticker on the top that maybe blocking it. If there is nothing under the sticker than a 2nd mic does not appear to be anywhere to be found (at least with my virtual microscope).

Has anyone shown that the "second mic" makes any difference whatsoever? I understand there to be no complaints about sound quality. On the other hand, the review of the Driod Bionic by Wirefly (excellent reviews by the way) complains about the sound quality. "Marbles in the mouth."

Note: Slashgear's review probably has the most (too many practically) photos of anything so far. There is a second hole right above the volume rocker button.

It is here: http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-epic-4g-touch-review-12178752/

Isn't that hole for lanyard strap?

LOL. If there is only one hole for a lanyard strap, how do you get the strap anchored? (And that's a very tiny hole!)

On the other hand, if you look at the photos with the back cover off, you can see a hole that might connect to the hole on the outside of the phone.

Did the original European Galaxy S II have a lanyard strap? If so, you might be correct. But you suggest that the European S II did have a second mic, correct? I'm confused.

Update: And where is my lanyard strap? (Would anyone actually use it?)

Yes, international version had the lanyard strap at same location above volume rocker. I just checked the side pictures of SGS2 to confirm it. And it also had the second mic on top next to headset jack.

It is for a lanyard, that hole is far to big for a mic, the back-side of the phone has the other end for the lanyard strap to go through.... Also one review, I believe the Wirefly one says something about a lanyard strap hole... maybe one of the hands-on videos, I've watched far too many videos lmao... oh well

Yep it is a lanyard strap hole even though its one hole. U lift the back cover off and there is an anchor underneath. the original epic has the same.
