I'm hoping the GB update comes out this month. I got ants in my pants about rooting and romming. If GB comes out soon, and it's awesome, then I can save myself the trouble.
I'm hoping that when Gingerbread comes out the source code is released quickly thereafter so that kejar31 can update his GummyCharged Gingerbread build to it quickly. That and iMoseyOn can update his kernel too.
I like the GummyCharged ROM since it's fast and lightweight.
Looks promising, but reading deeper there are still issues that many are having.... can't wait for it to be more stable because I want the radio issues and improved battery life.
most of the issues are with the debloated touchwiz 4 version. from what i gather the regular bloated version is pretty good. i havent rooted my phone. waiting on the OTA.

Thats what I gathered too... if I am going to the dark side I'm getting rid of the Verizon bloatware... that is my biggest problem with this phone. 6 pages of apps and I only use like 1 to 2.

Root now. I am rooted (and have been since day two of owning the phone). Running froyo...Gummy 1.91 with imos latest kernel. Gummy 2.0 does not seem to like my phone. With lagfix enabled I consistaly get quadrants in the 1600-1700 range. The phone is fast and I ran it down to zero yesterday with over 30 hours on the battery. I refuse to believe gingerbread will do any more than that.
I am coming from a droidX that I still have froyo on. Tried the gingerbread builds and stock gingerbread but rooted froyo was still better for me battery wise and performace was every bit as good. Sometimes the latest flavor is not neccessarily better.
There is no link, no file and no information to support this claim by mobilebloom. Stick to getting your information from reputable sources.
Also, the person from the Verizon Charge forum admitted that the entire post was made up of "wishful thinking".

You don't need root. EP1W writes over everything through odin. Phone isn't even "booted" when it's flashed.
I waited for a while, and gave in before lunch today. WOW this thing is fast, eliminates the home screen redraw lag, and I've been streaming without any "hiccups" for quite a while. That hiccup used to bug the heck out of me.
Showed EP1W to a friend with a charge, he played with it for about 15 seconds and asked if I could flash his. He's been loving it all day!
I'm talking about the "bloated" version, apparently there are some TW4 issues on the non-bloated.
