I can`t seem to get this to boot on mine following all the directions. Not sure what is going on. I have one of the "oddball" phone. Has anyone else with an "oddball" got this to work on their phone?

back when pwnyourrace create his overclock kernel there was a small handful of phones that wouldn`t boot with it. He had to make a variation to address this. He labelled the resulting version as being for the oddball phones. It has kind of stuck as a nickname for those that had the issue as it was odd that we experienced such a difference with identical hardware thus "oddballs".

me too but is this caused by a previous kernal perhaps i had installed a beta of the umph kernal a while back could that be an issue?

I have never had this problem either. On any build. But I do have Juice Defender running, and have always had it running. That probably is the difference.

I'm gonna try that and see if it works. Also, what do you have your wifi sleep policy set to?

I noticed that the audio is quiet just like stock.
Easy way to fix it being quiet is making a call while the music is playing then the audio is MUCH louder. (I did the same method on stock. I usually call customer service so I don't waste any minutes)
This rom is a huge improvement over stock. I can live without ffc and gps! Thank you Ticker and Isaac!

Programming can sometimes be a thankless job. I wish that I knew how to program this type of device. I've designed and programmed databases for a group of people -- and to be honest -- what motivated me was the personal pride in being able to eventually program everything to work exactly the way that I wanted it.

I've never locked my code and freely distributed my databases throughout the company. It's always nice when someone appreciates your work now and again though.

Keep up the great work Tickerguy! I love the ROM so far.

anyway, not sure if this is known, but wifi hotspot doesn't work, just says error. Obviously this isn't as import as wifi lockup, or GPS, but just making sure it was known. Is it related to the MTU issue or was that fixed with this ROM, since its not from VM?

I have the same issue, ticker doesn't have it so that means it doesn't exist, apparently.

These are alpha level releases, if you expect everything to be perfect and anything that troubles you to be worked on instantly you shouldn't bother loading it.

Ticker and Isaac - You guys have done an amazing job so far, I am very happy to have a CM7 version that most things work. Not too long ago this was not even close to possible. Thanks for all the hard work and hours you have put into this, and for letting us all test it out. Ignore the whiney bastards and do your thing. Most of us here appreciate what you have done and will take any updates whenever you have time to work on them and get them posted.

Tickerguy has been tirelessly working on this phone. I would know, he's been kind enough to keep me in the loop. When fixes are found, they are released very soon after. Do you guys think that any manufacturers would give you the same courtesy?

Admittedly, tickerguy is far more capable than I am. I have never seen a dev work at the pace he has. The phone has been out less than 4 months and it has a port that is good enough as a daily.

When I FINALLY get my internet back, I'd like to be more useful. I have an OC Kernel that I'd like to be included in CM7.

Help for newbie. I left boost land because of this phone. But now that i got it. It cannot install the update. Im using cwm 4.0.1.4 it always gime me the "install aborted" line. Is it the sd card or the zip file may be corrupted? By the way cwm let me restore and back up but just dont let me install. Excuse me for my poor english.

Tickerguy: I don't know if this helps any, but I found something interesting about the Wifi. I have been using Barnacle Wifi Tethering and if I setup all the information such as IP, Subnet Mask, DNS servers, it works. I have actually been playing Xbox online through it which is really amazing to me. Just recently, If I have barnacle going and the screen sleeps, the phone reboots after a few minutes. I tested it and it does it very consistently. So I set the screen to never shut off and it doesn't restart. Sounds kind of similar to the Wifi lockup on CM7. Right now, I am using stock. Hopefully that can give some information to peg down the problem.

Is there a way to save my contacts on to my computer or something and then load them onto the phone after installing CM7? If I have to do a factory reset I'd at least like to be saved from the tedium of adding all the contacts again. Honestly everything else can go, though.

Also, thank you so much for getting this done so quickly! You are mad. Or some kind of machine. Or perhaps both. But I am grateful. I can't wait to start trying this thing out.
