Help lock screen widget

i have been using a lock screen widget for a while now on my droid 1. the widget locks the phone and turns off the screen. i like it better then pressing the power button. i am having an issue on the bionic where the widget locks the phone but it does not turn off the screen, instead it goes to the lock screen. i have tried a few of those widgets from the market and they all behave the same way which leads me to think that this is a bionic OS issue not a widget issue.

is anyone seeing this? is there a workaround?

Same issue here with "Screen Off and Lock" on my Bionic (worked fine on my Thunderbolt and Desire Z)... Would love to know a workaround!
