Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Is there a way to save my contacts on to my computer or something and then load them onto the phone after installing CM7? If I have to do a factory reset I'd at least like to be saved from the tedium of adding all the contacts again. Honestly everything else can go, though.

Also, thank you so much for getting this done so quickly! You are mad. Or some kind of machine. Or perhaps both. But I am grateful. I can't wait to start trying this thing out. :)

Whoa dude, do u not back up ur contacts thru Google? That's gonna be ur best bet. Unless ur against Google?

Not at all! I just don't know how to do it. Is there an option in the contacts menu or is there an app for it or what?

I've never used a smartphone before and I'm still just picking up on how to do a lot of this stuff.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Synced it with my gmail account. I dunno if that's what you meant but that should do it.

Oy. I feel like such a newb right now... well I guess I still am, technically, so there's that. Heh.

i backed up my contacts by pressing the menu button while viewing the contacts and choosing 'import/export'. this made a backup file on the sd card. when i imported them using the same method on the new rom all of my contacts were copied twice, but it worked.

I just used Google. I still can't believe I didn't bother to actually go into the Contacts menu and see if there was a way to do it from there... D'oh!

But I'm running CM7 now. It is seriously beautiful. Everything runs better already and I'm still just getting all of my apps reinstalled.

I will be keeping up with updates, naturally. Tickerguy, Isaac, and anyone else who helped make this a reality--you are all terrific. Thank you.

Help for newbie. I left boost land because of this phone. But now that i got it. It cannot install the update. Im using cwm 4.0.1.4 it always gime me the "install aborted" line. Is it the sd card or the zip file may be corrupted? By the way cwm let me restore and back up but just dont let me install. Excuse me for my poor english.

We can probably help if you explain exactly what you did when attempting to install.

Are you installing via "flash zip from sd card" or are you trying to cram it into the folder where your backups are and install there? the latter won't work, at least not to my knowledge anyway.

Admittedly, tickerguy is far more capable than I am. I have never seen a dev work at the pace he has. The phone has been out less than 4 months and it has a port that is good enough as a daily.

4 months? We're not even 2 months in technically. this beast came out July 19th, Tickerguy has been blazing through this like nobody's business and for that I am more grateful than he can imagine. If i wasn't outta work I'd show just how appreciative I am. In fact if he puts up a link for donations in his signature I'm sure many others would do just the same!

Oh, wow, you're right! My days have become blurred. Just makes my point even stronger. :)

Now, about the proximity sensor issue, I can't reproduce it. What's worse is we're reusing the prebuilt froyo lib so I don't know how fixable it really is.

What issue are you talking about? the flashing screen one that people are claiming? In my case it isn't the screen that actually flashes but the soft keys. They blink as if they're a notification led. At about the same speed as well

Unless when you add contacts you choose "phone only", you will keep your contacts after a factory reset or even getting a whole new phone.

EDIT: oops I didn't realize there was a 10th page and his question was answered 3 times lol

I just ran in to the problem rock mentioned. Screen goes off and on during a call 4 times, then stays off until I move the phone away from my head, reproducible every time for me. I did format /system. Ill try clearing data later this morning when I get home from work.

mine keeps on flashing during a call until i take it away from my ear.
including my buttons.

I have been able to reproduce it by keeping the phone away from my face for like 10 seconds when the call starts and then bringing it up to my face. However, it stops after bringing it away and close again. In the past, I noticed this happened to me once with Froyo as well, so it could also even be a hardware problem. But for me, it doesn't happen under normal use...

Hey peeps. I'm new to cm7 and just put cwm on my triumph. I'm eager to.use this updated Rom but just have one question. Is the data better then the stocks version in regards to surfing the web or streaming videos?

i would say the phone runs smoother try "speed test" app on stock my cm7 is ping 330ms download is 1793kbps and upload is 504kbps. but each phone is different in each location im in spelter west virginia and got my data from piketon OH.

Anyone else's phone reset randomly two to three times a day with the latest build?
My ascend did that on CM6 ...lol

But as far as this, No i flashed back to stock, I couldn't get Internet connectivity, and as my phone is my internet right now, I could not justify not having it working.

I will try again on one of the next builds though
