hello everyone. So i use to be an iPhone 4 owner...now that the samsung galaxy s2 has hit the states, I'm picking up my phone tom from sprint. I have a question. i found this site below:

How to root your Samsung Galaxy S2 | Reviews | CNET UK

This shows me a really straight forward way to root my galaxy s2 tom. My question however is all these guides seem to be for the unlocked global phones sold outside the US. Does anyone know if this will also work as my guide to root my galaxy s2 sprint version. The guide says to put the phone in download mode to hold the home button, now on the global theres a physical button, the US release is a home button but isn't physical. DOes this make a difference in the rooting process? thanks again everyone and looking forward to joining the android world tom

Hello and wecome to the Android Forum Njbrodeur87.

There is a specific part of the forum devoted to rooting the Galaxy SII which is situated here:-

Galaxy S2 - All Things Root - Android Forums

The "sticky" at the beginning of the forum contains a wealth of useful information for anyone wishing to root and customise their Galaxy SII:-

The CF-Root method under Rooting Guides is the most reliable and preferred rooting method and offers a step-by-step guide.

Hope this helps. :D
