Just restored using minimal FXZ and re-rooted using Pete's!

I wanted to test it out for future ROM flashing and also I think there were some settings that got messed up when I was messing around with my LED too much...

Nice guide so far man! You should include a section for "How to do a nandroid backup" I know you have it in the bootstrap section, but it might be of use if you just make a "How to: Nandroid Backup" so it's easier for people to see. Just my .02 cents

I need to figure out this as well. I can't find how to boot into anything other than the Motorola or stock Android recovery.

Anyone else having problems getting rsdlite to install? I had problems with the driver install and had to got to moto because it kept asking for a disk. Do i have to do the same with rsdlite

I'm definitely not new to using RSDLite, but I've tried repeatedly using the posted fxz files and everytime after it uncompresses, I get an error that says "Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing."

I've tried downloading the both the full size file and the minimal file and both produce the same error.

I'm at wits end now because I did a little too much tinkering and removal of what I thought was bloatware, except now I get force closes when trying to add a calendar event (which I've heard has to do with removing the generic email app). I backed them up with Titanium and then removed them, except when I try to restore the apps, Titanium hangs on restore and I have to reboot phone. I figured my only option was to flash it back to stock, but now I can't even do that because of this XML error I'm getting.

I know I don't post much in here, but mainly because any issues I have, I can usually find with the search function. However now, I seem to be the only one with this problem since flashing the Bionic is a new thing. I truly appreciate anyones help in this matter. Thanks!

Have you checked the MD5 hashes?

Yes, I did check the MD5, and they matched up. I'm happy to say all is well now

I got my hands on a mac and did the fastboot method and it worked like a charm.

Hey, which guide did you use, the minimal or full? I had to create all of those commands for the full, but I have no way of testing it.

I used the minimal one. I had an issue initially with using the fastboot binary on a Mac running leopard, it would keep saying "Permission Denied" when running the command. I went and ran it on a Mac with Lion and had no issues.

That's interesting. Maybe it needed to be chmodded to +x for it to run. But it's working now!

yes, extracted to a new folder on the desktop.

If you haven't tried it already, delete everything pete's file and the extracted file. Redownload extract and try it again. The file might have been corrupt when downloading.

Do that, and also check the MD5 hashes! I've included those for a reason!

Here's a Windows/Mac tool that adds hash checking to the right-click Properties/Get Info menu.

You might need to install the latest microsoft framework. here is the link. download, install and then try again.
