Ok, I finally flashed the more freedom kernel over my og 3D beta setup. It's only been 4 hours, but it seems my piece is smoother, it wakes up easier.
Like I said maybe it's the placebo, maybe not. Bottom line, I like it so far. Why did I wait so long to flash it?

I don't think its a placebo, its holding up better today with battery. 8 hours with 78% remaining, plus set CPU overclocked a little. Over an hour awake time. Not bad.

I tried chopSUEY today and I lost 30% of my battery life in less than 2 hours. I'm gonna try goldenmonkey before flashing back one of the freedom kernels

Best battery life and rom/kernel combo that I've found is Virus's 8/25 Eternity build and chopsuey .9.1.1 or Lithid's aggressive .9. Nice and fast

with a later version of Chop suey, and setcpu clocked to just under 1gig with screen off profile of 128/245

Edit: i am on the Interactive Governor. Time in state in setcpu info was 85% for 245.

Well I can say one thing I started turning off my mobile data when Im not using my phone and my battery life went up dramatically. Granted when i do use it you notice the battery ticking away, but I can have my phone with juice for the whole day. I do have It over clocked and DO NOT have a screen off profile on setcpu, Im running smartass governor, which to my understanding does sit for you. BTw I too am running this kernal...

I have yet to try the infamous chop suey, got to one of these days.

I like this kernel so far. Easily last one day with moderate to heavy useage. Over an hour on the phone, about an hour and 45 with awake time. Lots of gmail, texts, web access corporate email. I'm happy.

Yes, it sounds great! all of that activity and still making it through the day going strong.

I don't really feel like I used it that much today, but just noticed that screen was set to never turn off. Brightness wasn't that high though.

On a good day(one where I don't have classes in the basement and get no recption for a few hours) I was able to get 24 hours (roughly equivalent to yours) with moderate usage on the stock battery running mikg2.5 and more freedom.

I have an extended battery, but ever since i rooted it only gets used when I'm almost dead and then a random trip somewhere pops up where I know I wont be able to get a charge.

Oh yes, should have mentioned, i am using juice defender, as well. Signal in my bldg bites too. It is deadly w/o juice defender.

I have a nandroid set up with mik 2.53 and morefreedom and I think it is great, as well, plus, it has the latest voice search patch, so that function actually works.

i like mik3db1 with golden monkey1.1 as well, same on voice patch. I actually went back to the stock battery with it, but larger battery fits in my hand better, so I don't mind using it.

Another thing, stock cover comes off a lot easier if you have to pull the battery. It is more flexible.

There are a lot of new devices comming out right now, so you will see a lot of new ports and experiments. Great time to own an og evo. Once the new phones have been out for a hot minute, the roms will get finished, more refined.
Aamikam will get this stuff done eventually, school comes first. Let him get settled into the new semester schedule, get some strange, and he'll be back on track.
