1. Boot to recovery
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe dalvik cache
4. Go to mounts and mount data
5. Flash kernel
6. Go to mounts and unmount data
7. Reboot phone

Yeah I read that, Newt is pretty darn solid (despite being a dirty Verizon-er) so I'm looking forward to this. It would definitely be nice if this takes off and aamikam gets involved. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Beta 2 went up yesterday, no more keyboard fc's and should have working Wi-Fi. A few extra goodies tossed in as well.

So far it's running extremely well for me, nice and smooth! And that's without the V6 script or OC'ing. (I'd have ran the script to see how it worked with the ROM, but there's an issue with SuperUser in the current Beta, I expect that to be worked out in the next update tho.)

Yeah, between the dedication and the fact that he's hosted on the mikmik forums (love those guys), I've opted to follow Newt's ROM as opposed to the Team Nocturnal port.

Going through the whole deal with no Evo to test himself is crazy, fortunately people are testing this thing pretty thoroughly for him!

I'd say its at least worthwhile to flash it for a few minutes if nothing else, just to get a little taste of how smooth this thing is going to be.

i couldn't get wifi to work, even flashing the stock kernel... gotta have my wifi... also noted that there wasn't a reboot option in quick settings... nandroided back to my MikG 2.52... haven't found anything as of yet to run as smooth for me as this one...

Beta 3 posted! The changelog isn't up yet, but aamikam gave newt some tips this time around, should be worthwhile!

EDIT: Hold off on D/Ling or flashing this for right now, there seems to be an issue with the lock ring not appearing after the ROM is flashed. Newt should be awake in a few hours so I imagine he'll fix it up later.

This is getting pretty old, imo. I know he's updating different phones but I wish he would have someone test the build first before he releases these to the public. Just my $.02

But being a flashoholic, I keep flashing away. Hopefully, he will continue to develop this rom because it definitely has potential

Well we should be looking at a fixed beta within the next hour or two at least.

And I hear you, I feel the same way about all those new Team Nocturnal ROMs that keep coming out but end up getting more or less dumped for something different and shinier.

Hopefully everyone's patience and newt's hard work will pay off and we'll see some solid working features for this beta. Can't be easy without an Evo of his own to test.


EDIT: Beta 4 available now! It hasn't been tested, literally just went up, so we have no clue what has or has not been fixed. Newt isn't going to update the OP until he gets some feedback, so here is a direct link to the DL:

Beta 5 is up, and according to pretty much everyone over at mikmik it is working pretty well. Wifi is working and usb is working and there is no loss of root access. (plus lockscreen works) Obviously no 4g

You can also apparently install things like the Bliss Theme as an apk which was not possible in the early beta versions.

If at first you do not have "root" when you use Titanium trying downloading the root checker app and then verifying root. That seemed to sort it out for the one guy on mik who had the issue.

I am going to try this either today or tomorrow I will post what I find. (as I am sure clint will )

well yesterday i ended my day before i hit the hay, my battery was sitting at 50% with texting all day, made like 5 calls, played plant vs zombies(love this game!) for like 15 mins, and read for like an hr on my kindle app. it really is not the rom but really i think that it is the kernel. tiamat sbc kernel rules. i tried other kernels on cm7 and they suck compared to tiamat.

but will be definitely flashing runnymede later today for sure.

Definitely worth a try my friend! Over the next few weeks there are sure to be fixes for EPST and the video recording, and Mik is likely to get in the mix a bit soon. This thing is borderline release status already.
