I MUST MUST MUST say that when I was using my GPS app on my phone on the boat, I was getting splashed with water (waves) - and my phone was getting splashed too - so thought hey, time to get a waterproof case for it - and I found one that is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE - it is a vacuum case that if you want to, you can buy waterproof earbuds so that you can swim WITH your iphone or smartphone and listen to music at the same time (IF you want to) - but this case is unbelievable - the touchscreen on my phone works just as well with it on as without, which is saying something - and it protect the phone brilliantly - here's a link if anyone is interested as it is well worth buying if you are a boater or swimmer and want to use your phone. It says it's waterproof to 100 feet - I haven't tried that - it has fallen in the water and was fine - this is a good case. Every once in a while I get a gadget or accessory that I can't live without, and this is one of them. It is really strong, but I put my phone in it, seal it shut, and then out on the boat I don't care if it falls in the water or gets dowsed in water - your phone is SAFE!!! It's called a DRYCASE. I got mine on amazon but I'm sure there are other places you can get it.

Let me step up the game a little...

Best water resistant treatment you can get...(and it now available- The video was before the official release)

You should check out the youtube video

$120.00 for an Evo 3D FYI...

That is definitely a nifty idea, $120 nifty though? And have you read their warranties?

The coating is guaranteed for 30 days, hmmm... Coating is "expected to last for its lifetime internally, and about a year externally, given normal wear & tear." "The owners of Golden Shellback want us to know that the protection is designed to "splash-proof" your device, and not meant for you to go swimming at the beach with it, even though it's likely to handle it as shown in the video."

Sorry, after reading that particular portion this now makes that idea bad for me. Cool concept, not enough of a warranty for me to think it is worth it.

The shellback is expected to protect the internal components for a lifetime, which is where the water ends up screwing up the phone (not to mention it protects that goofy water sticker that turns red if it hears the word water...)

While not for everyone those who work around water a lot would benefit from the coating. I have never had to use the Sprint insurance over the last 12 years that I have been a customer...They should lower deductibles to 0 for ppl like me.

Personally I like shellback for one reason...

I am on the phone a lot and sometimes an important call comes in while I am in the shower. It's nice to have a water resistant BT headset and phone so I don't have to worry about a drop of water getting inside and ruining it, not to mention the moisture from steam...

That's crazy. I can't imagine needing to answer my phone in the shower, for almost any reason. My 5-10 minute shower is my alone time haha. No phone in there. As for steam...I have my laptop in the bathroom all the time when taking showers and have steam everywhere. Going on 3+ years of doing that and not a single problem.

..Alone time with the laptop in the bathroom hmm... Gonna leave that one alone

The biggest problem ppl have with phones in the the shower area is the moisture sensor getting tripped because of the steam.

LOL! I use it for music so I can listen to my sets. Good time for me to focus on transitions and see what songs do not go well together.
