I think they will sell, unless as usual Metro kills off the LED for the camera flash. Thats if it comes out. It would be nice if Metro would announce what phones are coming out, and their features at least a week or so beforehand. Not waiting till the day before..

but with the lg phone coming out, who would buy htc, unless money issue's...saw a review on it on youtube a while back and it laggy like the ascend...

HTC Wildfire S Hands-On - YouTube

Oh i agree fully. And the LG is an LTE with Pricing Confirmed at $379.00 with no MIR, or anything. Sorry but i can get an EVO much cheaper, and will be much happier.

Thats why even though the HTC has a slow processor it will draw a lot of sales, is the HTC Name, its display is much better than the Optimus, and the Ascend, decent camera, with a LED flash. Also the HTC software which is so highly customizable. I predict there will be several ROM and Kernel updates for the Wildfire within a Month of its release.

Personally i know i can get an EVO4G fully flashed to Metro for $180. So why would i pay $379 for a new Metro Phone...Sorry but i rather have the EVO.

As far as this wildfire goes. If they put it in the 99-129 price range it will sell very well.

If I was with Metro and I couldn't afford the LG Esteem, I would rather have the Samsung Admire over this phone. 3.2 inch screen and 600mhz vs 3.5 and 800mhz for the Admire. (though PDAdb lists some versions of the Wildfire as being clocked at 800mhz, so that could turn out to be a wash). I wouldn't go with a smaller screen and slower processor just to get a flash for the camera, which is the only advantage I can see.
600mhz trying to run HTC Sense just doesn't seem like a good idea, either, while the Samsung is running mostly vanilla Android.
I do think it will sell ok. I think a lot of girls will buy it because it's "cute" lol. I see this as the replacement for the Optimus as it gets phased out. I think the people who know Android will opt for the Admire or wait for the Esteem.
As for the flashed phones, it is tempting, the EVOs are a dime a dozen on Craigslist. Even the EVO3Ds are getting cheap due to Radio Shack practically handing them out like candy. (in my area, anyway,) it just seems like the flashed phones always have something that doesn't work quite right, or some kind of bugs. I guess it depends a lot on who does the flashing, though. No EVO will be LTE 4G like the Esteem, either.
One thing I think we can all agree on is can we just retire the damn ARMv6 processor already?! It was outdated a year ago.
Anyway, I don't remember what point I was trying to make with all of that, so carry on.
Lol

Got the inside track through a Metro Dealer in my neighborhood. Personally i would go with the Wildfire, as even a minor upgrade to the Ascend, as the HTC phones are very easy to unlock, and overclock the hell out of. I am betting it will run 748-800 with no problems. And it comes with the stock 2.3.4 so no worrys there.

I know a lot of people are going to jump on the esteem, and more power to them..I rather have the EVO4g..Better manufacture, and in my estimation better phone.

Another thing that I believe is true is the fact that a flashed 4G phone from another carrier will not run 4G on Metro's network. Everything else will work though. You can get 3G where ever Metro is lighting it up, but not 4G.

Oddly enough i have seen some that will get the 4g, that were flashed and some that don't. I think its one of those hit or miss type things, just like the Ascend, some are lazy and won't clock above 648mhz...some will clock over 700mhz..

One thing is for sure, no Evo or any other Sprint phone will get 4g on Metro, because Sprint uses Wimax, and Metro has LTE. Verizon uses LTE also, but I don't know if they use the same frequencies as Metro, I haven't looked into that.

Got 2 Admire for $50 from my bud a manager at Metro, black one and the red one, and i have to say im amazed at the performance, and also i had rooted both of them, 1 click method...;)
Nice...but why do you need 2 of every phone? Are you building a Nuttmeg's Ark for Androids? Lol. I would consider getting one of these if Cricket didn't make you pay an extra $10 a month for their stupid Muve music service that I don't want.
