So, I was looking at my wifes phone and mine tonight. I noticed a slight blue/purple tint to her screen. I thought it was the wallpaper or her brightness setting. I adjusted both of our phones exactly the same, and still see the blueish/purple hue. It's especially dramatic when I turn the phone at an angle. Needless to say I'm a little pissed right now. I'm assuming I can return it to best buy for a NEW one, right? Up until now I've had nothing but good things to say, but this not acceptable Samsung!

Yes, i will return it. There is no reason for two phones to have different color displays. In my opinion worse quality. The sad part is if you bought only one you would have no idea if you had a crappy version.

No 2 screens are gonna be the same! Very rare that u have 2 with the exact same whites, etc! But I would deff return if its taxing on your eyes.

This is my first samsung phone/first amoled screen. Coming from an EVO 4G, I loved the colors on this screen, but felt that something was off with the whites. Do you think that Sprint would exchange for me? I bought on release day from a Sprint store.

Well I believe you have 30 days from the point of sale to do a return or exchange, unless Sprint changed it to 14 already! I would add more to the story though if u want to do an exchange besides the whites being off....compare it first with the store demo...

First compare the brightness at the lowest setting,
Then half way'
Then cranked up all the way,

If yours has any traces of yellow or anything like that, call the rep over and show him, and also maybe say you have been getting a bunch of random reboots or something of that nature...They'll exchange it on the spot.

Yes some people will say....ehhh just keep it! Those are the people with zero issues with they're phone, and would do the same exact thing if something was wrong with they're new Toy. My motto...Get what u paid for, and don't settle for less

Yeah, if you guys saw it you'd probably say "WTF". It's a little odd. AMOLED screens are supposed to have great viewing angles. My wifes phone is like purpleish-blue when you tilt it. Almost like the white pixels are not working properly. It's really odd. Mine works great at any angle. Anyhow no time to take it back until Friday. I'm kinda pissed becuase it was a surprise for her, now she has to return it for another one, lol.

EDIT- And yes, the whites are certainly not WHITE, but the deep blacks make up for the off-white white. :)

Ive noticed this on mine too but I dont know if its just a function of the screen. any angle I look at it thats not head on the screen seems to shift to a bluish tint. not super noticeable but noticeable.......I took my EVO for granted:(

Go compare it to another. I don't want to freek people out, becuase it's still hands down the best phone out there. It's not THAT big of a deal, but I just notice mine is much whiter when viewing at an angle.

Ill check my wifes when I get home. But I think we might be having the reverse issue. when I look at it head on its really white but any angle I view it at instantly brings on the blue hue
