Received letter for excessive Roaming Usage

I am so fed up with Sprint. I have been calling them every few months since the beginning of this year about crappy data speeds at my house. Last night, I get a letter stating that I am in violation of the terms and conditions by consistently exceeding the roaming limits (300MB/month).
Yeah, no kidding! This is what I've been complaining about all year! Sprint signal sucks at my house so it grabs the next best thing, which happens to be a Verizon tower (my brother is on VZW and always has a good signal at my house). So fix your freakin network or cancel my account so I can go to VZW!

If they terminate my account, they won't bill me an Early Termination Fee, will they? Has anyone actually been terminated for this type of thing?

Here's my actual data roaming usage this year:

i do not think that they will charge you for it. read this post: http://androidforums.com/3032609-post217.html. it was taking from this thread:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/337563-here-goes-nothing-trying-get-vzw.html

Mr. Ed was canceled for roaming, no termination fee. You might as well start looking at Verizon phones, cause you're gonna get booted. Read that entire thread that Ocn posted, you'll see what I mean.
A good buddy of mine just got the bionic, it is sweet. Uber fast and weighs about half of what the EVO weighs. Nice sized phone. I told him good luck rooting the thing, I heard Motorolas are a pita.

I use Sprint and just moved to a new area. I told them everyone had better service that was NONSPrint in the area. in the end the offered to send a FREE AirRave Box that turns my home DSL into a cell tower and Ive been great ever since. Our outage is only a 2 block radius and its FREE so I stuck with them rather then change provider.
Yeah they offered a free AirRave no fewer than a dozen times all year long but I don't have home internet. I am trying to get by with just the phone and I think it will work fine as soon as I'm with a provider that works well in my area. If I had internet at home, I would just connect via wifi so I tried getting them to explain why the AirRave would help in my case.

The Nexus Prime should be coming out in the 4th quarter if you're interested in that
Definitely interested in either the Prime, Galaxy 2S or the HTC Vigor (Indredible HD). Doesn't seem to make sense to switch to anything but a dual core 1.5GHz if these are launching in the next month.

This is why they let you out of your contract so easily. They offered the only solution available, which you turned down. They have roaming policies, you violated them. Good luck with Verizon, it seems the better match for you in your area and they do have some pretty nice phones.

Well I wouldn't say it was the only solution. They could, of course, improve their network coverage.

The roaming policies are obviously an out for them. If a customer ends up in a dead zone and won't/can't use a bandaid like AirRave (which they hand out like candy because it offloads bandwidth onto other networks), then they can at least cut their losses rather than:
- Pay hefty fees for roaming on other networks
- Issue refunds for lost service (they credited a total of four months of service to my account in 2011)
- *gasp* expand their network

I just got my second letter from Sprint, letting me know that I've used excessive amounts of roaming data. I've complained a number of times to them about poor service and they dont seem to care. They sent me an airave, which didn't do anything, so I sent it back. I'll let them get the pleasure of sending me 1 more letter, then off to Verizon I go, and I won't be looking back. Not my fault that I used to have decent service where I lived and last winter it all of the sudden changed to no service...

This is kind of comical to me. I roam all day at work (Sprint black hole and Verizon repeaters on site). I called when I saw the roaming data on my bill (free of course). They advised me not to worry about it, it's free. No nasty-grams yet but it could be because the other two phones on the account aren't racking up roaming like my phone does.

No they won't ....if your home is in a roaming area you cannot be charge early termination ...that's for all carriers ..its the law

Im running the VZW prl (on purpose just to see what would happen) and I am considering switching back just cause I love my phone and really dont wanna change.... I get good coverage where im at, but just wanted the leet-ish ability to dial *2 and have it say "welcome to verizon activation" or whatever it says lol so is it 3 warnings then the boot?

Never got another warning, but I finally picked up my Rezound last week and can NOT believe I waited so long to switch to Verizon LTE. Where I would run the battery down in an hour or two at home or the metal building I work in, I can get 14000kbps down on 4G LTE.
Such a shame because I loved the EVO, but the network was useless at work and home for me.

I did the same thing as you did. I bought the Rezound last Monday and have been VERY happy. I too can't believe that I waited this long to switch back to Verizon. The best part is that I am in a 4G area and 4G speeds are excellent! My bill is $8 higher than Sprint, so I don't think that is bad at all. I'm getting a day and a half out of the battery on the Rezound, where the Evo would be dead in 5-6 hours... The Evo was a great phone, just a horrible network. I've already sold the Evo and everything for it, except the HD Dock, which I may just throw out. See ya Sprint!
