I don't know about you guys, but I have been on the fence with the Bionic. The way VZW upgrades phone hardware every few months, I'm wondering if a Bionic 2 is in the works that will fix all the bugs in the current Bionic. I dont know what Motorola did in the many months since CES, but it seems like they missed the mark.

If I were Motorola, I would put out a Bionic 2 instead of being bypassed by the Samsung Droid Prime.

The phone isnt even 2 weeks old yet. Yes, there are some software bugs just loke every other device ever released ever.

No, Motorola isn't going to release a Bionic 2 next week because it takes more than 3 weeks to develop a new device.

Don't start this crap in yet another thread about how you don't think it was ready and would rather wait for the next best thing. Yes, there will be faster and newer phones in a month or two. That's how it works. And guess what, after the prime and sgs2 there will be more powerful devices not long after.

People need to stop thinking that the Prime is some god phone that will be the best thing man will ever create and never be outdated.

If you wanf to piss and moan about it go find one of the many threads that have already been made and whine there.

Stop cluttering the forums with more of these useless threads.

Not sure if this has been relayed but when I called to complain about a problem with 3g dropping off - I was told it was listed as a problem that was to be corrected in the Nov update. The didn't say Nov 2011 or Nov 2012 but I can only hope it will be sooner.

Bottom line this phone works better than any (IMO) other new phone right out of the box. Once we get a few leaks and dev ROMs it will be totally sweet.

It never ceases to amaze me how people always are looking beyond, yes there will always be newer things, yes they will always have bugs upon release, yes they will fix them as they go along, now why pass up on a good thing hedging your bets that the next one will be better and free of bugs. Two weeks andpeople are already complaining, jeez give it a rest and enjoy the darn thing i came from a blackberry and this phone kicks ass, bugs and all.

Where is this droid prime you speak of? What does it look like, what specs and where can i purchase? Going to be funny when ICS turns out to be over-hyped. Anyone else remember waiting for the nexus one on verizon?

I remember when the OG Droid came out. There was all the talk about the "google" phone that was coming. Then google made their announcement and said the nexus was coming to VZW. And then people waited and waited and it never came. Look at the Bionic, it was announced in January and just now came out. Until I see a press release that has a date a phone will release and the specs, a phone is just a rumor to me. There is always something better coming down the pipe. But if I decided to always wait for the next phone, I would still be rocking a StarTac.

Bottom line, the Bionic is the best smartphone on Verizon today. It is likely that will change in a month or two. And then a couple of months into the new year, something better than those phones will come out. It is a neverending cycle.

I always tell people buy a phone that u like for yourself and not what the hype decides for you. I'm with at&t and I choose to pick an slightly underpowered phone (1ghz dual OMAP vs 1.2 dual Exynos, 512mb dual channel ram vs 1gb ram). My main reason was because Samsung support sucked so bad when it came to their first galaxy s device. They didn't get rid of the plastic phone design and with all their phones they put out, I have a feeling the gs2 will be super late with ice cream. This bionic phone is a beast itself and I'm sure in a few weeks there will be an update to fix the bugs. If your trying to get the latest and greatest device your either gonna be broke or you wont own a phone.

Lets place blame where it's due. Samsung was incredibly up to date with updates for its unlocked and unbranded versions of software for the Galaxy, it was the carriers who dragged their feet.

I for one am waiting for the bionic 350 3dfx with hookerbot mode.

Reality is i dont get people that buy the biggest baddest or wait until the next biggest baddest. If my droid 1 didnt die i would still be on it. Even though it was slower than todays it was still plenty capable and heck has features the iphone 5 is rumored to finally have. Then again i view the phone as a tool not a toy, you either need it or not. The only concern i have about this rush buy to get me up and running is the lack of near field but as of now not many out there so im not sweating it.

I like the Bionic. Sure, it has some software issues, but I deal with software on a daily basis. I don't expect the software to be completly bug free. I am as happy with this phone as I was when I got my Original Droid when I switched to verizon.

If your worried about a better phone coming out next week, next month, or next year. Maybe smartphones arn't for you. Be happy with what you get. If you keep waiting, like many others have said. You will be waiting for a very, very long time. Or be very dissapointed in what you purchased.
