Help i cant recieve texts :O

I recently rooted my phone and deleted some built in apps like the messenger, but of Scouse I was using a diff one and thought it wouldn't matter. Can I fix this??

Even though people use different messaging apps, everything still gets worked through the stock app, so by removing the stock app, yeah..ouch. There is a thread somewhere that shows you exactly what to remove, and what not to remove. Let me see if I can get my hands on the stock app .apk for you.

edit:

Go to this link directly from your phones browser. Once it downloads, open and install..reboot phone. Let me know what is the outcome.

LINK REMOVED ( Please see below )

That's why I'm confused. Urg I'm royally f'd aren't I? Wait are uninstalling and deleting the same process?

Pretty Much The Same Thing.

Well, that first thing didn't work, we are going to need to manually put the mms files back into your phone. You will need astro or root explorer from the android market. Please download one of them. Please wait, while I upload the files.

I have root explorer, lol that's what I used to delete it in the first place

Very Well.

Don't use the one from above, use the ones below.

What you will want to do, is again, go to these two links directly from your phones browser. Once they download. DON'T NOT INSTALL.

Instead you want go into Root Explorer, and navigate to your download folder where the files downloaded to. Do ONE AT A TIME.. Click and hold, and click copy, then navigate to /system/app and paste, do this for both the mms.apk and mms.odex.

Once they both are pasted into /system/app. Exit Root Explorer, and reboot phone.

1: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1239859/Mms.apk

2: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1239859/Mms.odex

These were taken straight from my phone so any version numbers should be the same.

Thanks for the list, but what now should everything be working? should I try to install the second mms.apk you sent me?

Scroll above the list post, and you will find directions. You are not installing these this time around, you are manually putting them into your phones app folder. Once you do that, reboot, and try to send and receive a text

Well thank you for trying to help me can't say it wasn't appreciated, however just used my friends phone to send me a text and I haven't received it, tho I can send them just fine. Maybe I'll leave my phone off overnight? Time usually helps things

See, the thing with you being able to SEND them and NOT RECEIVE strikes me as a bit odd. Usually when people remove the stock messaging app, you can't send either. Are you getting any Force Close messages?

Call Metro, or Cricket depending on who you have. And ask them to refresh your phones signal. If they ask why, tell them you are not receiving any text messages.

Leaving it off overnight really won't do anything but waste time you could be fixing it :p

Haha spoken like a tru wiz, I didn't know metro had a number to call lol do you know what it is?

Ughh... I should be charging :p

1-888-863-8768 or 611

All companies have numbers to call. You will need the account security code for them to do anything to the account. If it's under your name, it will be your birthday. If it's under one of your parents, then it will be one of their birthdays..usually is..by default..unless they asked to make up a different code.
