Root How many people are still on the Droid? I think CM abandoned us...

Given that probably the majority of the droid people jumped ship to the bionic, I'm wondering how many of us are left...presumably waiting for the vigor or the prime?

I think CM has abandoned us now that there's so few left...I wonder if there's any chance of getting another nightly build again. I wouldn't blame them at this point if they did stop support. They've wanted to drop it for so long.

Agree. I haven't seen a nightly build since 9/1.

I am holding out for the next Nexus phone (Droid Prime?) before I upgrade

OK, snarkiness aside, comments like these really do get developers up in arms. It hasn't even been 3 weeks yet, and to see users complaining about a lack of a nightly build is disheartening at the least and irritating at best.

Nightly builds have stopped for most phones at the moment (it's certainly the case for my phone). It was announced here that this is due to kernel.org being hacked.

Other phones have still been getting nightly builds on CM...and I know they've been busy with other family life stuff, as i actually do read their site and totally understand all that.

I was just curious how many people were left on the droid. My comment about CM was an aside.

I understand wanting to know how many people were left - but the comment is still not one that developers like to see. it's also why many developers will tell you flat out "It'll be ready when it's ready."

I still have my DROID, not sure if it is going to become a handmedown or if it gets sold on eBay, but I have it - and no matter what, it gets reverted to stock. I don't have the time to maintain it for someone else on CM7, and CM7 in and of itself is too much of a memory hog for the mere 256 that it comes with. If it were me, I'd keep running it - after all, if it hasn't really bothered me since Jan, I doubt that it will now

There are LOTS of folks who still have their Droid and are waiting for the Prime/Vigor,myself being one of em. Won't be long!!!

As I just posted in another thread, I'm keeping my A855 until (hopefully) Motoroogle releases a phone with an unlockable bootloader like the Nexus S etc., or I decide to jump off the batwings and get a sammy. I will not own an Android phone that has a locked bootloader, period. Why do you think they call it a bootstrap? When do you usually have to strap on your boots?

p.s. CM7 is a bear to run on the A855 anyway, but I'm running winner0's latest build without too many problems with prime's kernel and v6. I also agree, the A855 forums everywhere seemed to have died out with the D3 and bionic release. . . . . .

just downloaded nightly 195... they had a compiling problem for like a month and weren't posting failed builds... hense the jump from 175 to 194... 166 was really stable for me as well, 175 not so...

still rockin the Droid and I will continue till I see what google/motorola come out with. Also no bootloader or no sale. Webtop looks nice and I really want to see what google does with it. By that time I should also be seeing quad chips.

I love this phone. Mine looks brand new still and I have had it since day 1. Been commando the whole time. The fact that it is so hackable has sold me on android and I can't see me owning anything that can't be hacked so openly as this has. This phone is almost unbrickable and trust me when I say I have done my best to test that.

Here Here!! Read my signature. Although mine isn't so pretty anymore, cammera button has lost almost all the paint. I have been having a few problems recently that has had me starting to look.... low memory notice, clockwork having issues (for some reason 2.5.0.1 seems to not play nice anymore, likes to reboot for some reason. Had to clash to 3.1.02). On a side note for some reason CM 7.1 will not let me sign into my google account. Been trying since Blackdroid went offline, UD seemed to play rather nice with my phone. Tried a couple of others but got spoiled on the notification widget.
