Help My Samsung Admire erased my contacts, won't let me add any. Help!

My Samsung Admire just erased all of my contacts and the worst part is that the phone won't let me add them again!

It says " contact saved " but nothing happens. The Admire is a great phone for the price but this is the first problem that I have with it. Does anyone know why?

what were u doing when they were erased? If you were removing bloatware u might have removed one of the wrong files.

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't doing anything, they were just erased by itself. Yesterday I added the contacts again and today they got erased again. Seems to me that it has to do with me linking my Windows live and Gmail account under Metro Mail. I had to reset the phone to factory default so I could add everything again, I was hoping that the problem would go away but today it did it again. Could the phone be defective?

i found out why contacts dont show in settings... go to your contacts... press the bottom left menu key... go to "Display options"... under "Choose contacts to display" click to expand your account for contacts.. Check Mark all... System Group: All Other Contacts: & if there is one with no name: check that too (there was in mine) you should now see them all

Hey Locklady, this works but also shows every single contact from facebook as well as gmail account, but the thing is, I don't want every single gmail contact in there since I have thousands. I had the issue when adding a app called Launch Pro. It is known to have issues with the Admire according to metro pcs corporate office as I took mine in today. But now I got it back everything was fine, they had to reset to factory default. SO adding in my apps again except Launch Pro and when it auto syncs with Gmail it starts doubling my contacts and also added in my thousands of contacts. But I was like no big deal, wait til it synced delete all contacts and then just add in the ones that were already saved on my SD card. it said contacts added, but it tells me i have no contacts and if I add a contact is says "Contact Saved" but nothing shows up.

SO I don't know what to do.

not sure if this is your problem but for some reason if you have SYNC CONTACT enabled its a ONE WAY sync. it will not take contacts from your phone and put them on google and if google does not have a contact you have on the phone it DELETES the contact on the phone.

I disabled sync for contacts and it stopped removing my contacts.
