I Do Not Understand It . . .

All these people who are chomping at the bit to get the newest and the best as soon as it comes out. Knowing quite well that new releases always have bugs no matter how hard they try to clear them before release, and only to buy it and then do nothing but berate the product and the manufacturer, if they know that this is how they are why buy at release.

I am tired of all the gripping, you dont like the phone return it but dont try to dissuade others with your rants, I came from a BlackBerry environment that was so crippled it was not even funny, so to me this phone with any and all imperfections it may have its like night and day to me and I am tickled pink too have it.

I just wish that maybe some people can post their positive stories as well because I am 100% sure that the number of happy customers will outweigh all the gripping ones.

I agree whole heartily. What I also hate is just because Motorola showed off a phone at CES and called it the Bionic that this is that same phone. That phone was scrapped and this phone was then designed so no this phone is not 9 months late.

When i bring up a complaint its for thereason that it gets resolved and as an early adopter i would hope its noticed so that its resolved soon for me and my clients that i recommend the phone to. This isnt iphone fanboy world where we just accept and make it out to be godlike

You shouldn't let other peoples opinions get to you like that. All it matters is that you love or like your phone. Its the nature of the tech game. You're gonna get these types of posts on every blog comment,forum etc. Some people do have legitimate gripes and some just want to rile people up and try to rain on their parade. Be happy bro.

Anyway, this is an open Forum! And people are pretty much free and clear to Bitch and moan, ask for peoples advice, and hear the good, as well as the bad. Its the name of the game.

I'm on my 3rd Bionic, so I have very little sympathy for Motorola, HTC, or Samsung when it comes to hearing people complain. I for one get it, alot of these companies try to skim by, and cheap out on some phones, and in the end it sometimes takes 3/4 times to get a good unit and not a lemon.

Of course those that have the perfect phone, with zero headaches, a battery that last 36 hours because they live in a hut somewhere upstate where there's no 4G, and they don't have GPS on, and keep they're screen at zero brightness, etc, etc! Sure those people have nothing to complain out...But some aren't so lucky! Gotta take the Good with the bad.

Battery life is awesome for a 4g phone. Its super fast in every way. It has lots of cool new features like printing, streaming and webtop. The ffc is a great addition.

My point is that this thread was originally started to tout the good as you pointed out the forum is for posting the good and the bad, well there is plenty of bad I am looking to see the good stories too. I for one am very happy and satisfied with this phone, yes it could be better and yes it will probably be but for now rock on.

You know, I have a couple thoughts on this:
1) Even with "extensive" testing, I doubt there was more than a few dozen Bionics in the wild being tested. Thousands were sold on day one, and it's obvious there will be bugs (often the same on on several devices). Really one of the best ways I've seen such extensive testing done was on the CR-48 (which I never got!). Clearly, not possible to do with an OEM+Google+Carrier involved. So, a lot of folks come here to find solutions to problems/bugs, and a lot of us are more than happy to help them out; it's a great community.
2) Forums, and more specifically review sites, are filled with people who either LOVE the thing or HATE it. Case in point, I read a lot of Yelp (mostly for our three restaurants to see what folks are saying), and the bulk are bringing up complaints or singing praises. While forums are quite different, I think there are some similarities in the comments you'll find.

Having said all that, I was simply tired of the "I'll wait for the next big thing" rhetoric. The Bionic is a huge leap from my D1 and I had an upgrade patiently waiting. I love this phone and can't wait for some Liberty ROMs, or hopefully some CM support.

I ordered the Bionic yesterday and it will be here tomorrow. I am here in the forums to see what people are dealing with. I want to hear it all. The good and the bad! All phones have problems and I accept that. Thats why I am here. To find out how others are dealing with the issues. Someone usually comes up with a way to fix it. I currently have the Eris (Rooted) So I can deal with any problems that come along. With help from all of you of course! So thank you in advance!!!

Maybe I'm off base here, but if you put the effort into making a thread like this in the first place, maybe you're trying to convince yourself that you bought the right phone?

I mean, the harsh reality of message boards like this is that you're going to have to deal with the positive and negative posts. That's what message boards are for and all about. Just as you are sick of hearing people complain, maybe those people are sick of people like you that dismiss their opinion and get defensive about it. You have to think both ways.

The bottom line is that if you're happy with your phone, then that's all that matters. I don't think you should have to feel the need to defend it or make a big stink about other people bashing it.

I personally think this phone is very underwhelming considering the huge delay and setbacks that it had. But I also understand why people like it so much. That is their choice and I'm cool with it. At the end of the day it isn't affecting my life.

Correct, It is an open forum. But people need to stop complaining about every little thing that isn't even really an issue. I have seen lots of posts and complaints saying battery life is terrible. I hate to break it to everyone, but smartphones are not Laptop's or Desktops. They have a small battery. And, *gasp* when you use more technology on the phone, 4g for example. It will take MORE power. Who woulda thunk it?

My point, if you want to do everything with your phone, get an extended battery or 2. Battery life is ALWAYS going to be an issue, until we come up with a perfect battery/energy solution.

Not to mention, I have several friends that have also purchased the Bionic. Any one of them that had any issue, did a factory reset and NEVER had that issue again. I did this the second I got my phone.

Your last comment, I'm not sure if you were trying to be funny, or just offend everyone that likes their phone. I'm not positive, but either way. I mean come on, it's not like EVERYONE has 4g. Unless your living in some special world where everyone has fluffy pink 4g radio signals spiraling into their phones. And if so, I don't think I would want to live there. It would feel like a bad pepto comercial.

I don't see how a thread called "Did you name your bionic" should have posts in it like "I named it POS cause it sucks and I took it back" that is not contributing. The OP, and those with complaints, both have valid points about the purpose of this forum. It is here for all to express their opinions, and to share their input about things that we can learn from, and look out for.
My opinion on the subject of complaints is that it is sometimes in the way that it is stated that offends, more than the actual complaint itself.
Not everyone who comes here to complain that they have problems with their phone is a troll, even though there are always those who will make that accusation. There are valid reasons to come here with complaints, such as learning what you can do to minimize/solve a problem you have with your phone. I have learned so much in this forum, as have others.
What offends ME, is the people who come here to convince others that if you are happy with your new Bionic (or any other phone) that you must be stupid, because it is a piece of crap compared to (whatever phone they are currently championing). If they are so convinced that their phone is so superior to every other phone, why aren't they sharing that sentiment in the forum of that superior phone, with all of the like minded people who own that phone, instead of trying to instigate trouble in other forums.
Just my two cents for what it's worth, and that's probably NOT a full two cents.

i am not trying to convince myself or anyone else that this is the right phone for me or for anyone else, all I was trying to do is show a side that you hardly see because of all the complaints and that is that there are quite a few of us that are happy with the phone and would like to see others that are happy express their thoughts as well but as it i always the case it was misconstrued and taken out of content and character and made into another thread full of animosity, but fine be as it may.

In general I'd say you wont ever hear the happy ones because their happy. Its only the trolls, and butt hurts you generally hear. Only a small percentage complaints being from truly unhappy people-and a majority of those probably aren't using their device correctly.

I'm sure there hasn't been an abnormal amount of trolling from the apple fanboys, no, i would never believe it.........seeing this is the flagship android device atm.

As for me I have used the DX, TB, Charge, and the Revo. The Bionic is by far the best for my needs although the Charge is a suprising close second
