Help Ouch ouch ouch!! My SD card has gone thermo nuclear!!!

Alright, so I just bought a 16gb SanDisk micro USB card for my EVO. I put it in my phone and it will not format or even be read for that matter. I put the card in my girlfriend's sidekick 4g and it suddly starts to get hot. Really freakin' hot! I jerl it out and let it cool. Upon closer inspection, there is no physical damage of any kind to the card itself or the contacts. There is thankfully no damage to either phone, although it may have helped in the case of the Sidekick.... Weird. Anyone had this problem or heard of it before? Thanks

Never had this issue or any like it. Sounds like a defective card you should if you haven't already take it back. Curious to what made it get physically hot.
