Root Wifi Issues

Well today my ascend decided it no longer wanted to connect to any wifi hot spots. The Wifi will turn on, you select what network you want to connect to, and all it will do is:

Wifi ON
Scanning..
Connecting..
Disconnecting..
Connecting..
Disconnecting..
and so on.

At this point in time I have done everything from trying every single ROM, and Now I am back to stock again but the issue remains.

Any ideas?

I had that problem once... All I had to do was reflash. Not sure what to say since you have already tried that. Maybe try again... and maybe try wiping EVERYTHING and starting from scratch...

Welp after about 20 ROM flashes the problem still remains.

Are you wiping and formatting everything? I had the same problem when I skipped out on formatting.

Yep, Complete format/wipe of all data. Followed by a fresh install of the stock ROM.

Even went as far as trying each and every Cm build I could find to see if any of those would fix it and nothing yet.

I believe the wifi is fried, not sure how, but that is just my noob opinion.

before attempting to reflash, first reboot your router and than try again, and also check and make sure your channel ison auto. Second if your with cricket make sure that static ip is un check in phone setting

I had to forget all the old connections after I rooted the phone and put on cm7, the "name" of my phone changed and since on my wifi connections had the old phone name, when I had them find the wifi again, they got the new phone name and then it all worked well. I came across this when I looked at my secure wifi list on my router and that is when I checked what it found as my phone. Once I had it find a the "new" phone name after the new os, then it worked well.

Welp after weeks of searching for an answer and hours of cricket customer support. It is offical.. The wifi on my ascend has stopped working.. And with the insurance that cricket offers with the phone doesn't seem to cover this issue so they will not warranty the phone out. All they will do is offer me a Ascend 2 for 20$ off as a replacement.. Quite disappointing there Cricket, disappointing indeed..

So as of today I have decided to move over to Boost Mobile.

that suppose to be covered, they are lying to you, but i dont blame you for leaving cricket if they are treating you like that, but good luck.
