Root BAMF Sense SoaB v1.03

Those expandable widgets look pretty cool (at least I am assuming that's what they are).
Yep, that's what they are. Kind of cool but it felt like I had a different phone. It was just so slow. The download is 358 MB whereas Liquid is 68!! I might have played with it for a bit but VM is not working still and I need that. Figured while I was at it I got a GPS lock, backed it up and then restored my aosp. But it's worth it if you have a few minutes just to check it out.

Everyone knows I am a huge BAMF fan, I have been running their latest (BAMFForever) and the ROM is absolutely perfect. They have been talking about a Sense 3.5 port, and well...Here it is folks. The first Sense 3.5 ROM on the TB, and I am sure as bugs get fixed new releases will be coming out as well.

For those of you that actually DO like Sense out there:)

i ran it for a little bit last night. I dont really see the point of the expandable widgets...they dont really give any information. the messages just shows me the latest text message, but doesn't give a name, just the number
new e-mails dont show up
no "pop up" messages for gmail
they really need to make them more useful. its a cool idea, but they dont really add to the experience. I do like the rotation animation, and i like the widget/skin/lockscreen picker. volume (tap to mute, 1/2 vol/full volume) is cool
dialer/contacts is cool
phone seemed to run a little hot compared to bamf forever
i do like the newer widgets
overall, it was pretty solid for me, some stuff seemed a little mis-sized (lock screen icons) but it could be a DD ROM for me.

The bliss has a different screen resolution, IIRC, so that it probably why things are mis-sized--the dev has to go in and fix every little thing to make it work.

bump for this... i hate to admit it,but sense 3.5 is pretty slick. i do like the new launcher and the widget that has the expandable tabs. you can put whatever app or shortcut you want on tabs,my only complaint is that you cant put something in the available space in the upper right corner. since this widget takes up the whole homescreen  i had to move my battery monitor to a different one.

im not a huge fan of the "carosel" screen transition for rosie(is the launcher still rosie?). id like the option to chose something else(if there is a setting for this,i havent even looked for it yet).

as for the rom itself, its amazingly smooth for as complex as the port prolly was,and fir being the initial release.

even if you dont like sense(i dont either) id reccomend giving this a twirl... at least for a day or 2. so far im finding it to be a refreshing, interesting change from your typical sense and AOSP roms. i may even go thru and delete some bloat and keep it a day or 2 :p

bj,may wanna add something about it being sense 3.5 in the title... it may give the thread a lil more action.

nope, the bliss is WVGA resolution which is the same as the thunderbolt.

so i ran it for a day and a half, i found the battery life to be horrid. i was seeing something like 6 hrs or so. where i could get over 10 easily on bamf forever. so i ripped out some wallpapers :) and restored a forever backup. I actually realize that i like the larger icons on the home screen and lock screen.
and i already miss the rosie. not even sure what it was about it, but everything just looked more refined in 3.5 over 3.0. i will be tracking 3.5 ROMs and flashing them, but if battery life doesn't greatly improve i am going to have to stick with 3.0 ROMs.

battery life is bad,indeed... im not sure if its any worse than stock sense. i got about 6 hours out of my first battery. pretty typical what i get out of sense roms.

i just got a visitor message asking about changing tabs. i assume its refering to the tabs on this rom,so i thot id answer it here.

basically, long press anywhere on that homescreen thats not the launcher. when you get the red bar at the top, drag the whole thing to the bottom left, wich is the "edit" button.

after a couple seconds,it will come back and youll be able to edit it. just touch the tab you want to replace the app or shortcut on :)

Id have to say this is the best "Sense" rom ive used so far. Thats saying alot cn as i dont like sense im a AOSP man, but i have to say im enjoying it very much and will use it prolly till i get bored and return to vanilla android. Its def a battery killa bur i have downloaded both Imos' and Ziggy's kernels and will play around to see which if either gives better battery life. Id def recommend ppl to try this baby out.

Running now also. I'm really liking it so far. I run aosp mostly but I'm not a sense hater though. While I have ran smoother versions, this is my favorite.

I've been running it for about a week, I am using imo's latest kernel, the battery life is still quite bad, but I am not really away from a charger for that long during my day, so it's not a HUGE issue. Definitely a smooth ROM..only thing that was a bust for me was the camera issue, which there is a fix for now I believe, so for me, everything I need out of a ROM is here..between this and BAMF Forever, I think I have found my Sense babies...

im likin at pretty well also. battery life is terrible, but i dont think its any worse for me than any other sense rom.

+1..i mean, I have never found any of the Sense ROM's to have "good" battery life, and this is just one more ROM with less than good battery life IMO..currently trying to decide whether or not to purchase an extended battery..but I'm still waiting for a reply in the thread I started ;)
