Advanced Task Killer

General consensus is that task killers do more harm then good.

+1

Especially in gingerbread and higher, atk and other task killers are unable to kill many apps and really provide no benefit to the general operation of your phone.
That being said, one might find it useful if you have an app that hangs often and you're too lazy to go into your built in process manager to force kill said app.

everybody has the same argument.. "all the apps i use stay open and it kills my battery".. they think this because when they go back to the app its in the same place they left off so it must be open.( The apps are not running. Android will kill apps on its own when its in need of memory.) or when they do install ATK and open it, wow look at all those apps running on my phone taking battery.. If you really want to know whats running go to settings>applications>running applications any widgets you have you will see these running along with the normal stuff like seetings and google services. and if you see something running in there like market or pandora etc, you can stop it in there.

I tell my freinds who want to put a task killer on there phone the same thing.. If its not broke dont fix it, if the phone runs good without it why even use it. it takes more memory running a task killer (thats suppose to free memory for you) then not even running one at all.

never had one and never will. I troubleshoot droid phones every single day at work and 90% of the time getting rid of that program fixes the issues. If you want to do something to conserve battery, (even though the inc2 has great battery life) use Juice Defender. IMO, which I guess could be considered a professional opinion since I work on the phones every day, is DONT USE IT. I'm not a programmer by any means so I don't know the total inner workings of android from that perspective, but from what I've read and seen, GB is designed to manage the aps a certain way, and when you add a task killer it totally screws the whole process up.
