Just got done proclaiming my undying love for my bolt in another thread and i thought i'd jump in here and slather it with a little more.
Up until my bolt, i've been a new phone every few months kinda guy. There was just always something that bugged me about whatever phone i had. My lg dare was a limited feature phone. Then the bb storm, wow. You can guess what was wrong with that. My iphone 3gs on att had service that made me fear for my life if i ever needed to dial 911. My droid eris was a slow small-screened little thing. My droid 2 was laggy with blur and i never used the keyboard and wanted a nice big screen for porn viewin-- i mean....screw it. Yeah. Now i'm at this point i've never been at before where i'm content with what i've got. My phone is fast, takes great pics and still has a beautiful screen, even compared to these new high res monsters. I look at these new phones coming out and out of pure love for new flashy things, i check out the video reviews and pics and all that and as amazing as phones are getting, it doesn't make my phone feel any less awesome. Dual core is so new that it's almost pointless to have but for the idea of feeling "future proofed" and higher res screens are indeed the bees knees but it's not like i'm counting pixels on my phone right now. It looks damn good.
I guess what i'm saying is that this is a unique position to be in. For me anyway. Usually at some point i got sick of a phone or made up some justification to buy a new one out of some desperation/need. Defects, issues, things that weren't built into it, whatever. And now i'm just...so problem free that looking at other phones is merely for fun instead of research into whatever my next one might be.
I got my bolt in april so i'll probably give it until next april before getting a new one. And just make it a yearly thing. Every april get the new best top o' the line hardware and just deal with it. A year for me is HUGE.
