Root Liquid 2.6 Completely Screwed

I rooted today and used ROM Manager to install Liquid 2.6 for my Thunderbolt, when it rebooted all I get now are two splash screens alternating, they are nice and blue but I would actually like to use my phone.

Can anyone get me out of this or do I have to go to Verizon and invoke my insurance making up some story about the phone flying out of my pocket while I was on my motorcycle?

Please help.

You can get out of this it shouldn't be too hard.

First get the phone off so you can boot into recovery. Once off turn back on while holding volume down, once that boots you should be in hboot, let it scan the SD and it should not find anything then you can press volume down to highlight "Recovery" then press the power button to select it.

Now if you made a backup you can go to backup and restore and restore your backup. If you didn't you need to wipe the phone and try to reinstall liquid (just to check to see if it is a bad download)

Assuming you didn't make a backup you need to use the volume keys to navitgate to wipe data/factory reset and press the home soft key, choose yes and let it wipe. Next wipe cache the same way. Now go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. Finally go to mounts and storage and wipe /system.

Next you will need to choose apply update from SD then choose zip from SD, then navigate to the /clockwork/ folder and somewhere in there you will find the zip for liquid (yes it will take some digging, use the back soft key to go up a directory while searching) once you find it flash it and reboot.

Hopefully it will flash and be okay otherwise you will need to download another rom zip and flash it, you would need another phone or computer to put the SD card in.

I actually figured out the holding the power and volume buttons and it did boot into recovery, I restored and my phone came back to life. I am trying it again with a fresh download, I guess I will see what happens shortly. Hopefully my backup is still there if I pooch this thing again.

Well, as I was typing this, it did come back. I did not expect all my apps to be gone though, I guess I just need to reload them. Can't find better keyboards though.

I suggest not downloading with ROM manager, it can cause issues, instead use links provided by the devs themself to download the files and flash manually wiping with the method I described above.

i downloaded liquid 2.6 from ROM manager and am still using it 3 weeks later and it has been the best 3 weeks my phone has seen. much smoother and better battery life than stock. the first 2 weeks were with the ROM's stock kernal and the past week i have been using imo's 3.5.8 kernal, which has only made a slight improvement over the "stock" liquid 2.6 kernal.

Yeah but had rom manager corrupted the download you would have been in the same boat as the OP. If you do everything manually, which isn't very hard, you can verify your download before you flash it to make sure you aren't trying to flash a botched download.

NO ONE USE ROM MANAGER...there I said it lol..I just hear so many stories about people complaining because something "funky" happened to their phone while using Rom manager..It is SOO much more safe to flash through recovery..I actually find it fun to do LOL

I've only been rooted for a few weeks (1st timer) and I now understand much better what's going on and how easy it is to flash the "manual" way rather than use ROM MGR. Sure, my first ROMs were done with ROM MGR, but you can't get most of the ROMs available thru that method anyway. I'm having a good experience with CM 1.6.1 so it's difficult to try anything else.
