Root X10a at&t 2.3

Hi I have an at&T xperia x10 that I believe is still rooted (not sure), with xrecovery. Reason I don't know if it's still rooted is because I messed up my phone and lost all the apps that allowed me to root the phone (z4root, busy box).

My question is can I get a version of 2.3 that is stock (sony version) or close to the version sony has released, and put it on my phone? Currently running 2.1. Should I root the phone again?

You probably want to use the new flashtool and install either the stock 2.3 ROM or a custom 2.3 ROM.

Easy way to find out if you're rooted is to reboot the phone, as soon as the SE text comes on, start pressing the back button, keep pressing it. If the boot animation comes up shortly afterwards, either you waited too long to start pressing the button or you aren't rooted. If xRec comes up, you're rooted.

A lot of people have problems booting into xRecovery. Two easy solutions.

1. Open Flashtool and in the flashtool, if you just rooted, at the top, there is an option to reboot into xRecovery.

2. Remove phone battery. Plug phone into the computer with the USB cord, hold the back button and slip the battery back in the phone.

True...my comment was made though, based on his comment of having a phone rooted w/xRec. If his phone was rooted w/xRec, xRec wouldn't all of a sudden be gone but his phone still rooted. But I guess weirder things have happened

Another way to tell if you're rooted, download Titanium Backup and install it...if you don't already have it. Open the app, it'll tell you if you have root access as soon as you open it up.
