Keyboard Recommendations

I have Swiftkey and it is better than stock. However, I like to swipe my letters, so I chose FlexT9 Text Input. FlexT9, to me has a better swiping interface than does the Swype app. FlexT9 also uses Dragon Dictate as its voice processor for voice input. I have found it to be quite accurate.

So is voice to text tied to the keyboard? Because I am using a free gingerbread keyboard I found in the market and am loving it. Haven't really tested the voice recognition yet though.

Actually, I think the Swype keyboard has a mic symbol. The FlexT9 has a flame type of symbol (Dragon NaturallySpeaking mark). So yes, the voice recognition on the FlexT9 has integrated the Dragon software.

The voice recognition works pretty well on both the Swype and FlextT9. I just like the interface a bit better on the FlextT9.

SwiftKey rocks, but I don't like the new X version. The fonts on the keys and in the word prediction boxes are smaller than version 1 and harder to see. Those of us who have been using it for awhile know what I mean. I prefer v1.0.951. I have the apk so if anyone wants to try it I can pass it along. It can be installed from your SD card with Astro File Manager, then don't let Market update it or you'll get the new X version.

I love SwiftKey and did move to the X version. I see what Data said and I know what he means, however I prefer it. This is just a personal preference. I got SwiftKey X for free because I participated in the beta program for it and they offered it to all beta participants. I have tried swype on multiple occasions and just can not get used to swyping everything. This all comes down to personal preference though so try them all and see what you like most about each one and what will work best for you! :)

I have only had this phone for a little over a month and I CANNOT STAND the keyboard. I have tried every option that comes stock on it and I can't seem to get the swype to work AT ALL. I've had friends try it also and it makes up words that are totally off the wall.

I am about to throw this phone across the room since it seems to just want to type whatever it wants regardless of what I'm actually typing.

Can anyone help?? I would appreciate it so my walls remain free of any holes :(

Swiftkey X is good, I got it for free as I have had it for a long time back and they gave X free to beta users. But now I use thumb keyboard. The prediction isn't as good as swift key but the space and layout is awesome for me! I love it, I also got it on the Amazon FAoTD. Try both, those are the ones that tons of people use, that or swype but I just can't get used to swyping... :-\

I don't care for swype either. I was excited when it was included with the phone, used it for a day or two, hated it, and never went back. I don't get what people like about it, but that's the great thing about Android, you can personalize your phone the way you like. Many options!
