3023 PRL (Norcross, GA)

I have had alot of questions about the 3023 PRL so decided to explain what I did and if it made a difference. I was reading that alot of the CM7 ROMs or 2.3.3 or 2.3.5 versions were having a hard time with the *228 OTA PRL update. I flashed back to a ROM running v2.2.1 and then did a manual *228 OTA PRL update. When I had Reppards, or Bobz ROMs installed, I would get the "x" no signal after and no automatic restart of my phone on a CM7 based ROM. My phone automatically restarted and 5-10 min later I went jumped from 3019 to 3023 (yes 3023, not 3020, 3022, etc.)

I have LTE On/Off app, but my 3G works on my CMDA network, actually my network now reads "CMDA-EVDO rev. 0

Thanks for above - so you're back on stock ROM right now? I'm on CM7 rom and on 3022. I did an OTA update several times yesterday but kept getting put back to 3019.

Not anymore, I'm back on a 2.3.5 CM7 based ROM. Only use stock rom when OTA update, once on 2023, then flash back to your original rom

An ota prl update, or even over the phone have NOTHING to do with the ROM you are on. It was purely coincidence. They are separate entities. Its what allows us to flash ROMS and keep our service. As far as signal differences with CM7 ROMS, its because we are running a gingerbread ROM but still using libraries directories and files from Froyo.

I think the corporate offices are in Richardson, TX. At any rate, I've seen a corporate building there, and I read some thing once that stated MPCS was headquartered in Texas.

I appologize, I didn't mean any offense. I was only stating what I had read and seen. For all I know the corporate could be there, and we've got a regional here.

I reflashed to stock and decided to post my results here as it seems more logical. I reflashed to pure 2.2.1 stock and then attempted to OTA update my prl and 3019 again. Seems that I'm not near any of the updated service areas. However, with PRL 3022 I get liquid smooth 3G service that's much faster than 1x...to spite popular opinion 3G is indeed faster on the stock rom but doesn't seem to sport the same results with CyanogenMod 7. With CM7 my 3G speeds seem to be slightly slower than stock. Perhaps some build property editing "Supercharger V6" field of the CM build properties my improve results.

More research is definatly needed...

Oh no I wasn't offended . I'm glad you mentioned TiBu cause that totally slipped my mind earlier and I felt kinda dumb because of it...lol.

How did you get 3023??

manually updated through lgnpst. @blaxican yeah I have that app already it searches for awhile, gets 3g then goes away

Yea the phone doesn't matter. All prls are the same.
