OK. I am having difficulties rooting my HTC Desire from US Cellular with 2.2. I have tried the unrEVOked3 4 or more times with the AV on and off. I have installed the HBOOT interface and when I run as administrator (vista) it opens and asks me to connect the device. Device is connected via usb and on. I have even tried to install unrEVOked3 3 different times and this does not help.
I need assistance as I am very low on space. BTW the low on storage space is currently on but the first couple of times it was not.

hi,

i had a lot of trouble getting my desire to root too - had to run UnR. maybe 5 times while trying different things - i think in the end i had to set my usb to disc drive rather than charging - along with the usb debug mode already mentioned above

good luck

cheers

my hboot is 1.06.0000. I normally have my phone turned on as it would normally be to use. Should I have the phone in boot mode, there are 4 options under fastboot, bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, and power down. Should I be in one of these in order for this to work. I have tried to use it with the sd card mounted and unmounted as stated in the instructions. Yes I have usb debugging on as well.

as SURoot states above you need to go to Revolutionary and follow the guides and links there

you cannot root this with standard methods
