Im using dsixda Android Kitchen with Cygwin tools for windows and I have everything setup, and my problem is I want to create a rom from the nandroid backup that I have for stock 2.2.1 and add a2sd support and delete the metro splash image and sound, which you can do in the kitchen. It is saying for the required files I need in the Original_update folder for the rom it need to have boot.img, system.img and the lib.img. That is the part Im having trouble with the nandroid part. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it or at least point me in the right direction. I have been looking everywhere between xda and here and there is nothing posted. Didn't want to create a new thread but, had to. :( Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. :)

the xdadsi kitchen doesnt support LG roms (as far as i know)..it only supports HTC models atm..so you basically stuck doing it the hard way..lol
umm thats incorrect, it supports many diff phones just not HTC. HTC was just what it was created for in its beginning.

Asheen where were you told you needed a lib.img?

All you should need is the system.img and boot.img ;)

Si, PlayfulGod is correctomundo, kitchen will support any phone that you have the proper files for, its just preconfigured for HTC phones.. but if you ahve a stock image and your trying to port a cm7 image.. ur half way there.. having the correct system files for phone is the biggest part.. u may have to edit some stuff.. but it will work

eh the porting tools are about useless for cm7 lol. I do use the kitchen to extract the boot n system.imgs tho to grab the need files tho lol

Hey Mike,

They recently just updated xdadsi kitchen and it does support the original Optimus. Thats why I decided to download it. Here is the link. [KITCHEN][September 10 '11] Android Kitchen, v0.179 [Linux / Mac / Windows] - xda-developers. Theres also support for the LG Phones as well. When i fist tried it out I used the team_chickeneater rom and it recognized it. I don't really want to use some one else is work. I want to just create a stock rom, with a2sd, and the rock kernal. Get rid of that annoying sound, and ugly a$$ MetroPCS Splash screen lol. I kind of like having the stock look, and would love to have a2sd and the rock kernal implemented in to the rom. That's where im having trouble trying to get the kitchen to recognize the nandroid files. If there is another way, all suggestions are appreciated. :)

I attached a zip file that has a screen shot of the requirements for the nandroid setup. Its a .doc file. Hoping that should give you an idea.

How do ya mean? if you are modding a stock ROM no porting tools needed

and its dsixda ppl ;)

Sorry for the miss spelling. My bad! :D Do you know any other method for cooking up a custom rom? The whole android kitchen thing is kinda starting to annoy me. lol. Been trying to do more searching and I did come across Clockworkmod but, its not available for the Optimus M. Not having any luck so far.

CWM is avail for the M, just not avail in RM yet ;)

I only know 2 ways to cook ROMs, the kitchen and the old fashion way and write your own updater-script.
