Root Questions about rooting my phone..

Then should I root? After rooting, will I be able to receive official updates from Sony Ericsson PC Suite?
Yes! Rooting is what makes these phones come alive, allowing you to install apps you can't use when not rooted and allowing you to customize your phone to your liking. Don't worry about receiving official updates from SE cause Gingerbread was the last update we're getting, officially at least :D

So root that thing, then flash a custom rom, I highly suggest Wolfbreak Xperia TW Gingerbread v6.0s....it's a custom rom that's super fast, super smooth, super stable and super sexy! I've been using it since v3.0 and love everything about it.

Great Ive rooted, dloaded xrecovery and done a back up, but following your link above I have 5 kernal options, I am not getting a description of which does what.

I am guessing that I do not install all 5......

Nice! Glad it worked out for you. As for the kernel options, I'd stick with stock unless you don't mind working out a few bugs. Not very many custom kernel installs are clean with no problems and it sometimes takes a minute to get them worked out. The stock kernel will be v6.0.0s.

I'm a lifelong 49ers fan, I only have the Eagles stuff on my phone cause my son's football team is the Eagles and they have the same logo. Yeah, Vick just can't catch a break huh? No pun intended :D

I really don't know what to download to root my phone.. Can someone please post the exact links for those files that I need to download?

I've watched the video tutorial about Flashing Wolf's Tweaked v2.3 Gingerbread Firmware.. It seems like he's downgrading the phone from 2.3 to 2.1.. Isn't it?

@iandroid I'm running WB Xperia Gingerbread v6.0.0s

In order for u to run this you need to root ur phone and have xRecovery installed prior to. Google "doomlord root method" and u should find the best rooting tutorial, its what I used to root mine, then I followed the steps in the link I posted to get the WB rom up and running. My best advice to you, READ! You do not want to get spoonfed this stuff, familiarize yourself with whats needed and keep it simple until you build up ur knowledge and abilities.

Mind to shoot me via email or PM?
It's pretty simple man, let me hook you up with the link. Just make sure to follow the instructions tit for tat. If you aren't sure about something, don't proceed. Read the tutorial first, get familiar with it, where things are located, what you need to do, what you're gonna need to do next, etc. If you follow the directions as listed, you'll be fine.

I can't stess enough, make sure you are well aware of not only the current step in the process but also the next step so you know what to do if/when something happens sooner than you expect it to. Let me know if you have any questions. There's a few of us here who have followed this tutorial now and can help if need be.
