Ok, here is the rundown. I have a HTC incredible and a few days ago, maybe more, I noticed my battery life was depleting rapidly. Not only that but running slower, freezing, the whole nine yards really. So I began to dig around in forums and see if anyone was suffering the same as i. I found out that I can look at where all my battery is going, and over 50% was to The android system, ( this is after I unplugged it from all night charging and left the house to go watch football, I checked the usage area around noon. So two hours give or take) and the battery was down to about 50% itself. So right away I figured something was wrong. I begin reading more and saw it could be because a app or something is consistently running, so I checked and a Google acct was red so I deleted that one since I have two, and checked again after a while. No fix. So I read about awake time and up time. Mine is maybe 5 min apart and I Deff had it sleeping or locked for well over half the time its been on. So I begin deleting apps and re checking everything, still no fix. So I said F this and did and factory reset, guess what. The awake time and up time are still the same and the battery is disappearing faster than beer at a super bowl party. I have not added or done anything since the reset. Please help. I know its long, but I read the more info I give the better chance of success I will get . Feel free to ask me anything else , I lost all pics of my 6 month old daughter and still have a phone that doesn't seem to be worth the forum I'm writing in lol. Thanks so much in advance

Sounds like you may have a problematic DINC. Is the phone covered under an extended warranty? If so then you might want to check with VZW about replacing the phone.

Agreed, although you could try rooting and reflashing your phone (reflashing the factory rom is fine). Of you should be able to reflash the RUU for your version of the software. I don't know where the link to that is, but I'm sure someone here does.

Get OS Monitor and see if you can pin down a bad app. It will also break down system usage into more finite parts. If that comes up empty, try moving all your SD card contents from the card to the pc desktop. Some users have been able to locate an effed up file that way (it will error/fail to transfer). Often times ends up being a game app on the card or a media item.

Well after I did the factory reset, I have no apps and didn't change a thing. Just went through the set up. I'm giving it till tomorrow to see if something happens, and if not ill prob take it in and try to get a replacement or something. As for the SD card, there is only three pics on there and I transferred them to the card right before I reset it. Tedious doing all the pics that way so I just cut loses. I don't have a laptop anymore had to sell if for extra cash for the baby, and honestly I'm not very tech savy like you guys lol I do greatly appreciate the help, and figured my phone had just gone to garbage. The screen slides like I'm swiping my finger on it, and wont did until I power it down a few times, powers down hard all the time, or just resets, force closes more than a mini mart in compton, time for them to fix it. If anyone has a better idea after all that I'm all ears
Thanks again guys
