VM - LG Optimus Slider (w/Gingerbread)) Coming Soon

Hmm, I don't know. I would think since it's already advertised at BestBuy that the name has already been chosen. Would they change the name after it's already been shown like that? Never know I s'pose... we've seen companies do nuttier things lol.

I'm thinking that the one in my post is the Gelato renamed, but I haven't bothered to compare specs or pictures or anything.

Damn. That almost makes me wish my V would die, cause that's the only way I can justify a new phone. And now that I (almost) wished my V dead, it'll happen. Way before this one comes out... I'm sorry, precious V; please don't die. Yet.

lol Did you just jinx yerself?

I hope this isn't the phone that was rumored to be the optimus black :( I had my hopes set on a bigger screen

Naw it's not hehe. From the way it looks to me.. the OP B doesn't have physical buttons (they look like touch screen buttons), whereas the Slider has physical buttons.

I like that the black has no hard buttons :) at first I was like "OMGITSGOTTAHAVEAKEYBOARD!!!!!!!"
But now i'm thinking that it's just another part to break/wear out/fail in general.
Funny how using a different thing changes your opinion lol

I just laughed so hard, I think I may have woke up my kids rofl. :p

I gotta say I made myself giggle a little too lol. Although I wouldn't mind having the keyboard too much, the fact that it's specs don't look much different from the V aside from gingerbread. (i'm running backside cm7 so gingerbread isn't a huge selling point to me anymore) also it has a 3.2" screen...it basically looks to me like the v with a keyboard, which I guess it is lol but I like how thin mine is. Not trying to bash the slider, just giving my opinion btw. If I didn't already have the phone I do now I'd most likely buy the slider, but i'm holding out for the black ^.^

Hehehe... I'm guessing you didn't see what I did there. While I was laughing at what you said, I happened to glance up and notice I had a typo in my post right above yours. Check my reason for editing lol. :D

You know what's odd? When I used my Intercept I was alllll over that pull-out keyboard, and I didn't think I would be able to get use to the one on the V. One week before I got the V, I vowed to stop using the physical keyboard on the Intercept so that I would train myself to get use to not having one. Now, sometimes when I fiddle with the Intercept I still use the touch screen keyboard, and my kids are all "Mom, use the real keyboard" lol. You know, I don't like that physical keyboard anymore because it no longer feels natural to use it.

Odd huh?

It looks as though those of us that are on Virgin will have more phone choices coming in October. The HTC Wildfire S as well as an LG slider have been announced. Both are running Gingerbread. This is pretty good news for those of us that didn't jump on the Moto Triumph.

This is already being discussed in the Virgin Mobile forums. One of the forum mods will probably move this thread over there. ;)
