The easiest way would be to go to the web site and it'll tell you if it's a corporate store or authorized dealer. But, I also believe that if it's an authorized dealer, their sign has to say that. Where as the signs of the corporate stores only say Metro PCS. I could be way off base, but that's the impression I've gotten.
A corp store only has metro products and the employees wear a uniform. An authorized dealer may have non metro products and will not have metro uniform. Your best bet it to look for the uniform.
Ok I've read tethering is not allowed on metro pcs most asked questions but are they really allowed to close your account for tethering without warning
Yes they are. Verizon doesn't do that but they block your tether and asks you to pay tethering fee. I understand the fee if you're on unlimited data but if you have fixed data allotment with high overage fees why charge twice for same data? I see that as blatant theft. Either way I don't tether.

What i meant was that if youre on an unlimited data plan i would understand a tethering fee because by tethering you will probably use 2-500x more data than you would normally on the phone alone. If youre on a fixed ammount of data there should be no tethering fee cause once you go over your limit the cost of additional data is higher than the normal rate.
