Perhaps you could create an account there and add a page for the TWS (Time Without a Signal) Bug that plagues a lot of Android phones. The Optimus V has this bug unfortunately. :(

:thinking:Im sure you guys know what TWS is. Stop being difficult, i am asking a valid question and have not found a solution in any other thread.

I gave you a valid solution in my post. If that is not what you were seeking (to find a temporary fix for the TWS Bug), then your question needs to be more specific.

Uh, er... who is "you guys?"

there are lots of people here with lots of different kinds of background and knowledge. If you are only looking for an answer for yourself and don't care about others, chances are someone would read your post and know what you're talking about and you'd get an answer.

but this is a forum where there are lots of people and part of the idea is that other people can read what you say and benefit from the information.

I for one am pretty computer savvy and I did not know what you meant by TWS. I've had my V for 6 months and I don't know if I have that problem or not.

it would have helped if you defined what you were talking about, for me and I'm sure for others too.

have a nice day

The OpV does indeed suffer from the TWS Bug (unfortunately lots of Android phones do.. the Intercept does as well). Check that link in my previous post and read the original thread. It's helped tons and tons of people. It's only a temporary fix though. If you wanted a more perm fix you would need to root your phone and install one of the custom roms that fixes the bug. :)

I personally don't think the battery status under phone info is accurate at all. My TWS will be zero many times, but 75% others, 21% right now.. but usually 0-2%. It also shows "Goggles" to be at 80% of battery use right now. Used it for like a minute yesterday. Checked and it's not running, and my battery hasn't gone down any more than normal.

I always drop 20-30% per 24 hour period regardless of what TWS says. The only time I drop more than that is when I forget to go into airplane mode when I get home (no signal), then it will drop 60-80% in 12 hours.

OK, I've been thinking about this. The 4 items show percentages that add up to 100%. If Goggles used 76% only for the minute or two it was running, why would the total be 100%? I always thought these percentages were battery usage for the total time since charged (3days 11 hours).

My TWS is 10%, of Cell Standby 5% (20 hours), so I assume that means 2 hours of the past 84 hrs was searching (or about 2% juice for TWS). Now if this logic makes sense, then the 76% for Goggles makes no sense.

Goggles doesn't show up at all in CPU or Partial Wake in battery history.

No problem there. This function always reports the percentage of power used by apps when they

Has anyone noticed ωhen υ recharge your ρhoηe the TWS disappears and you'll have to do the Airplane mode again to get it back?

Do you mean the actual text itself? I normally don't see it right after a charge until I wait for about an hour (not sure exactly when the text comes back, but an hour is normally when I sometimes check).

Sounds like Sprint, has issues and LG has to fix some problems maybe bad radios?

Try Bumble Bee OS mod over at XDA under LG Optimus V section, he claims to have solved the problem somewhat. Haven't tested yet myself but by his testing, the Network is faster. He might be a MIT or SIT or some IT guru.

I use bumblebee rom and the TWS is indeed fixed in that rom.

My battery lasts at least 50% longer now but I don't know if that is attributed to the TWS fix or other fixes.
